Roxanna Green, the mother of the youngest of the six victims shot and killed a year ago at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ political event in Tucson, told the ladies of The View that she tries not to be angry at her daughter Christina-Taylor Green’s heartless killer, Jared Lee Loughner. “She got robbed of a beautiful life,” said a grieving Roxanna.

Rather than anger, the mother said she feels sorry for the troubled man: “I pity him and his family.”

Roxanna recounted how excited her daughter was to go to Gabrielle’s event and how unusual it was for a nine-year-old to be so politically active. “We were really proud of her,” she remembered.

Sherri Shepherd asked Roxanna how she was keeping her faith after such a tragedy. “She’s with God and maybe God needed her,” Roxanna explained. The mother said her daughter came to her in a dream and said she was in heaven with her grandmother and happy.

She’s also found strength through bonding with Gabrielle. “It’s a miracle that she’s alive,” Roxanna said. “She’s a fighter.”

Although her daughter’s death was a shocking tragedy, some good did come from the loss. The family had donated Christina-Taylor’s organs, and she’s saved three lives and three children’s eyesight!

The amazingly talented and promising little girl would have been proud of her good deed. “She always looked at everything positive,” Roxanna recalled.

Christina’s family wants to make sure that ‘her time here in the world was well spent.’

Out of tragedy comes an amazing story: After Christina Taylor Green passed away during the tragic shooting in Tuscon, Ariz. on Jan. 8, the 3-year-old girl’s corneas were donated and given to two children, saving their eyesight!

“The fact that her organs were able to help people, that was an amazing thing to me,” Christina’s father, John Green, tells the New York Post. “It’s just another thing that this little girl has given the world.”

Even though losing Christina was incredibly tragic, it comforts the family to know that her death has helped other children. “We really felt a lot of emotion about that,” John says. “That was something that really made us feel gifted, still. We just want to make sure that her little time here in the world was well spent.

“This is exactly what Christina would’ve wanted, to be able to help someone else,” adds Christina’s aunt, Kim Green. “[She'll] be an angel in heaven watching over [those children].”

The young girl, who is related to actress Sophia Bush and former MLB manager Dallas Green, went with a neighbor to meet the congresswoman because of her interest in politics. How horrible.

9-year-old Christina Taylor-Green had just been elected to the student council and shown an interest in politics from a young age when she accompanied a neighbor to congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords‘ “Congress on Your Corner” event on Jan. 8. While there she became one of the now six people killed, and 14 injured, in a gun rampage targeting Gabrielle.

Christina had also recently made her first communion and was involved in activities including ballet and baseball according to The Arizona Daily Star — the latter especially as her grandfather is a former New York Yankees and New York Mets manager Dallas Green. She was also the second cousin of actress Sophia Bush who tweeted, “There are no words to explain what my cousin’s family is going through in Arizona. How can this be? Violence is never the answer…”

The always patriotic Christina, who was said to have often worn red, white and blue, was born on Sept. 11, 2001 and featured in the book, Faces of Hope, that showcased one child from each state born on the historic day. “She came in on a tragedy and now she’s gone out on a tragedy, but the nine years in between were very special,” her father, John Green, told CNN.

It is still unknown what shooter Jared Loughner‘s motivation was in targeting the congresswoman and then opening fire on the crowd.

In an incredibly moving and eloquent appearance on MSNBC this morning, Christina’s mother Roxanna said, “I just want her memory to live on, she’s a face of hope, a face of change. Stop the violence, stop the hatred.”
