In 2009, Degrassi went Hollywood. In 2010, it took Manhattan. And on Dec. 14, in continuing its quest for world dram-ination, the Degrassi crew is bringing its issues to Sin City! While Drew (Luke Bilyk) and Bianca (Alicia Josipovic) are making the trip to tie the knot, Drew’s ex-girlfriend Katie (Chloe Rose) has her own reason for hopping a plane — and this clip, obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com, we find out exactly what that is.

But before you Drew/Bianca fans get too worried, I’ll put your fears to rest: Katie is not planning to pull a Jane and crash her ex’s wedding. Her brilliant plan involves gambling, and presumably doubling, the money her parents saved for college so she can afford to attend the school of her dreams. (Why do I get the feeling that plan won’t work out as well as she thinks?)

And like all good Degrassi schemes, Katie ropes in her BFFs — in this case, Marisol (Shanice Banton), Jake (Justin Kelly) and Mo (Jacob Neayem) — to help her pull it off.

It’s a good thing we love Degrassi, because we’re about to get a whole lot more of it! Following in its annual tradition of awesomeness, Teen Nick will air new episodes every Monday through Thursday at 10 p.m. beginning July 16. (Oh, wait, that’s tonight!) HollywoodLife.com has your exclusive first look at the brand-new opening title sequence, which introduces season 12′s key players.

Degrassi switched it up a little this year, incorporating more sound effects into the characters’ usual curricular shenanigans. Get my thoughts on the video below, then watch it for yourself and drop a comment with your own thoughts on the new season:

— Front flips off the front stairs? And parents wonder why their kids keep dying at this school.

— Mo and Marisol (Shanice Banton) are apparently still going strong.

— Jake (Justin Kelly) and Katie (Chloe Rose)? I guess Jenna’s fertility scared him off. Also, they both have dark hair now and it’s freaking me out.

— Snake is still not having it with any of these kids’ shenanigans.

— Jenna (Jessica Tyler) has a new best friend, and they love running in the halls together like little rule-breakers.

— The hockey team at Degrassi is (apparently) a really big deal. Now the whole school cheers for them when they enter a room, whereas it used to be just me cheering for Owen (Daniel Kelly).

— Neither Eli (Munro Chambers) nor Imogen (Cristine Prosperi) appear to be crazy anymore. Eli’s just a director, and Imogen is seen playing the tambourine.

— Is Bianca (Alicia Josipovic) suddenly smart or something? This comes as a surprise to me, and apparently also to KC.

— Clare (Aislinn Paul) remains the school’s HBIC, as she gets the coveted logo on her jacket.

The Degrassi gang is fresh out of bug spray, but not short on drama, in this exclusive clip from the show’s Nov. 18 special Nowhere To Run. Itching for a weekend away, Jake (Justin Kelly) invites a terrible combination of people to spend the weekend at his dad’s cabin. And while Bianca is conspicuously absent from this clip, Alicia Josipovic promises HollywoodLife.com that our favorite bad-girl will be joining everyone in the woods — and she’s not there to deliver bug spray.

“The old Bianca comes back,” Alicia tells us, which we’re thrilled to hear. “She’s got some great one-liners, and there’s some confrontation between her and Katie [Chloe Rose] at the cabin. … I don’t think Katie is a big fan of Bianca. She’s always thought Bianca wanted to steal Drew [Luke Bilyk], so she’s on edge about that.”
