The ‘Twilight’ actress let her strong eye makeup pop against the neon color of her dress at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards in NYC on June 6!

Ashley Greene played up her eyes with a smoldering shadow in fun colors. See how you can re-create the look at home in a few simple steps!

Ashley looks super sultry with her deep smokey eye, and you can get this glam look by following these simple steps!

• Start with a base!  Cover the eyelid from lash line to eyebrow in a neutral skin-toned shadow.

• Apply a taupe shadow to the entire lid, stopping at the crease.

• Take a smaller blending brush, and apply the same taupe shadow to the crease of the eye but with a heavier application of the shadow – this gives the eyes dimension!

• Ashley’s eyeshadow shade is a bit cool, so go in with a deep gray or plum.  Focus your attention and application on the crease of the eye as well as the outside corners to elongate them and give a smokey cat-eye look.  Blend upwards and outwards towards the direction of the outside corners of your eyebrows (but not all the way!). Try: mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in plum velvet.

• With a small blending brush, bring the gray or plum shadow to your lower lash line for a drop-shadow, starting from the outside of the eye and softly working your way in.

• Apply a peachy golden eyeshadow right under your eyebrow as a highlighter, this will help open up your eyes. Try: mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in fairy dust.

• Apply black eyeliner to the upper lash line for definition.  It should start out thinnest in the inner tear ducts of your eyes and thicken up into a winged eyeliner as you move outward.  Then apply the eyeliner to the upper and lower water lines. Try: mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner.

• Curl lashes and apply mascara! Try: mark Scanda-Lash Hook Up Mascara.

Two Tips:

1. BLEND BLEND BLEND!  Investing in blending brushes definitely makes it a lot easier to achieve a smokey eye and make the different shadows cohere.  Don’t have a blending brush on hand?  Try a cotton swab!
If you had trouble or messed up while drawing in a winged eyeliner (which gives that cat-eye effect), no fear!  Go back in with the deeper shades of eyeshadow and apply them on top of the liner you drew, then get your blend on!  Such a quick way to disguise the mistakes!

2. If you are going to really accentuate one facial feature (in Ashley’s case, her eyes), go simple everywhere else!  Down play the other features to really make that one feature pop!

Ashley’s absence at the awards show seemed odd, but it appears the actress was in San Diego for a friend’s wedding!

Twilight won big at the MTV Movie Awards June 5, but there was one star who was not there to celebrate in the fun — Ashley Greene! Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner got to party the night away with their costars, but Ashley had something far more important to do — attend a friend’s wedding in San Diego!

Ashley tweeted June 6, “I was just a part of the most incredible wedding. Such a beautiful couple.” She previously mentioned what a great time she was having in “SD.” What an amazing friend, putting her pal in front of an awards show.

Ashley will be on hand June 6 for the CFDA Awards where she is expected to be the guest of designer Michael Kors.

The singer is being recognized for her eccentric style! Do you think she deserves the award?

Whether she’s wearing a meat dress or storming the runway for Thierry Mugler, there’s no denying the fact that Lady Gaga always manages to make a fashion statement. While some may think her style is too far out, the Council of Fashion Designers of America is honoring the singer for taking risks with the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Awards on June 6 at Lincoln Center in NYC.

The singer isn’t the only one we can expect to see on hand at the show — Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen are nominated for the Swarovski Award for up-and-coming talent in the women’s wear category. The talented twins are up against designers Joseph Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung.

Lady Gaga will be joining the ranks of stylish stars like Iman, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Nicole Kidman, who have all received the award in the past. Personally, I go back and forth with how I feel about Gaga, and I’m not too sure I’m totally sold on praising her as a ‘Fashion Icon.’ Sure, she has worn some iconic looks — but is she really worthy of the award? What do you think?

A-listers like Blake Lively, Carey Mulligan, Christina Ricci, Leighton Meester, and Kim Kardashian brought out their best dresses for the 7th annual CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in NYC on Nov. 15 — I was so excited to see so many of my fave red carpet beauties (like Blake, Leighton, Christina, and Carey) so glam, although I had a hard time deciding on who was best dressed!

Both Carey Mulligan and Blake Lively opted for Chanel and oozed confidence on the carpet last night. Carey wore a chocolate sequins couture creation from the fall 2010 collection and my girl crush, Blake, chose a spring/summer 2011 black sheer embroidered frock and pointy pumps. I thought Carey really worked her interesting outfit — although I wish she would’ve swapped her clunky ankle boots for a sexy pair of pumps! As for Blake, while I’m not always a fan of basic black and this isn’t one of the best looks I’ve seen on her, I thought she really owned the get-up and it stayed consistent to her signature sexy chic style.

Blake wasn’t the only Gossip Girl in attendance! Aside from Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick, there was Leighton Meester, who continued her stellar run on the red carpet. I thought she looked adorable in the custom Prabal Gurung frock, complete with embellished Swarovski crystals. She finished off the get-up with Roger Vivier shoes and Monique Pean jewelry. I think Leighton just might be my fave from last night!

Christina Ricci didn’t disappoint in a black and white Peter Som frock from the spring 2011 collection, black pumps and tights. While I think the stockings did a nice job of tying in the black and white theme of the get-up, I would’ve liked to see the star sans tights.

Reality star Kim Kardashian isn’t necessarily someone you would expect to see at the CFDAs, but I loved the pale blue Zac Posen, complete with an intricate Egyptian collar that she wore last night. You don’t often see the star in something so soft, let alone all covered up. While many people will probably find fault with how this dress fits her figure, I really liked the look last night. It was definitely a nice change and I thought she looked stunning, spending the evening on the arm of Zac Posen.

Who wore Marchesa better?

When I saw Hana Soukupova come down the carpet last night at the CFDA Awards at Lincoln Center in NYC in this fun Marchesa frock, I knew it wasn’t the first time I saw the black and white get-up! Mischa Barton sported the same exact look in Cannes on May 20. While Hana pinned her hair back and paired her outfit with a black box clutch and peep toe booties, Mischa wore her long hair down and worked it with a grey clutch. Who do you think wore it better?
