You know those rumors flying with two photos of the President with drastically different hair? They’re kind of hilarious – and WRONG!

Today, a few posts came out around the Internet with these exact two photos of President Barack Obama (in this exact order without the dates on them, might I add) with quizzical headlines implying that the President has dyed his hair. Um, yeah, that’s not really the case and I’ll explain why. Pull up a chair and let’s discuss the Commander In Chief’s coif, shall we?

Again, I’m not trying to point out the obvious here but..

1) These photos have been displayed as the photo on the left as the “Before” photo and the one on the right as the “After” photo. A quick search of some of the photo sites revealed -voila! – the photos are in the wrong date order! The photo on the left was taken the day AFTER the photo on the right. Why would you ADD grey to your hair?

2) As an African-American man, the President might use pomade on his hair to keep it moisturized since his hair is natural. It can cause the hair to be rather shiny and it can have a strange grey cast in photographs. Not to mention that weird blue lighting he’s standing under. Who looks good under THAT lighting, might I ask?

I’m going to have to weigh in on this one and say that, in this case at least, the President has not colored his hair between these two photographs.  It’s just a case of bad light and people getting the photos out of date order.

Not sure why we’re more interested in what he’s doing with his hair than we are with what’s going on with the country. When it comes to hair questions, there’s a much more beautiful, interesting person to talk about: his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama. Let’s leave the hair commentary to her. Way more fascinating and a gorgeous subject, don’t you agree?

Two of Hollywood’s hottest ladies had big hair transformations this week? Whose was hotter? You decide!

This was a BIG week for haircolor! Two of Tinseltown’s brightest reality stars decided to switch up their hair game for the New Year. But who has the Hottest New Hollywood Haircolor Change? That’s up to you! Read on and vote!

On the other hand, you’ve got Khloe Kardashian, who debuted her new fiery red hair at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards. I love the bold step away from her siblings and frankly, it looks really, REALLY good. She was evidently back today for a root touch-up to maintain her color so look for this hue to stick around for a while.

The treatment is extremely simple: mix 1/2 cup of your favorite champagne with 1/2 cup of hot water, then distribute the mix evenly throughout your hair and let it soak in while you are preparing yourself for a night out (New Year’s Eve, perhaps?) Shampoo and condition as usual.

The reality star spared no expense on her hair at one of New York’s top salons!

EXCLUSIVE! Mere hours ago Kate Gosselin left Ted Gibson Salon, one of New York City and Hollywood’s top destinations for A-list hair, where two of the industry’s best just worked their magic on her well-publicized hair. What did the reality diva have done? Read on!

Kate evidently spent about four or five hours getting a La Brasiliana keratin treatment as well as color with celebrity colorist and L’Oreal Consultant  Jason Backe as well as a haircut with none other than the salon’s namesake, beauty industry giant Ted Gibson himself!

The reality diva must be preparing for one fabulous holiday celebration because this destination for A-list hair is worth quite a bit. A La Brasiliana keratin treatment (a four-hour process that straightens hair) starts at $950, a haircut with celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson is worth $950 and color with A-list colorist Backe starts at $200. That means the price of her trip to the salon most likely starts around $2000 and would only go up from there!

The naturally blonde actress has returned to her gorgeous hair roots for her new role as Gwen Stacy in the forthcoming Spider-Man movie. I love this color on the actress (even though I’ve been secretly plotting to go steal her red hue for months now.) This is a great example of how blonde hair color can have richness and depth, especially with those deep honey low-lights mixed with flaxen blonde highlights. I think it’ll be fun to see how the color translates to the big screen.

I caught a moment of The View this morning and Nicole Kidman happened to be chatting with the ladies. Can we just talk about how amazing she looks right now?!? Love the hair, love the skin. What do you think?

First of all, love the fact that she’s returned to her original red hair color, which looks gorgeous against her glowing skin. The curls are healthy and shiny and her skin looks rather luminous. Interesting that I keep using the word “glow” : our friends at Hollybaby spotted a rather suspicious bump on Nicole’s tummy. Could all this luminosity be due to Baby #2? Hmm…

Get the insider tips and tricks on going red, straight from one of Hollywood’s hottest colorists!

Hollywood’s hottest sirens are rocking fiery red locks! Think about it: Emma Stone, Christina Hendricks, Julianne Moore? HOT! Considering taking the plunge into the red side of hair color? I know I am, so I went to straight to one of Hollywood’s hottest colorists to get the scoop!

Jason Backe, Celebrity Colorist with L’Oreal Professionnel at Ted Gibson Salon, is one of most sought-after talents in the business, with clients like Ashley Greene, Anne Hathaway and Christina Ricci vying for time in his chair. Here’s what Jason says you should ask yourself if you’re thinking about going red:

• Does it fit your personality? “I always think that a redheaded woman is not a wilted flower. She’s either the smouldering temptress (Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge, for example) or the funny friend (think Debra Messing or Lucille Ball.) Either way, she’s someone who likes attention.”
• Are you ready for the comments? “When you dye your hair red, you’re making a statement so be ready for reactions, both good and bad. Not ready for the opinions? You might reconsider.”
• Do you know your complexion? “Here’s a rule of thumb: the darker your complexion, the more you should avoid copper and orange hues because they’ll look cheap. Conversely, the lighter your complexion and your eyes, the more you can get away with.”
• Can you handle the commitment? “Red is a lot of maintenance, so you have to commit to your colorist, the salon and the money it will take to make sure it looks great. You’ll need to visit every three weeks to keep it looking fresh. “
• Are you patient? “Please just know that even though it’s a big change, it’s a process like anything else.  So, if you’re not immediately happy with the color or you want to tweak it, don’t worry: it can be done and it will look spectacular.”
