One of the best tricks in makeup is learning how to look young and fresh. Well, while backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, I had the chance to ask one of the best in the industry her can’t-miss tip to look forever young: legendary celebrity makeup artist Sandy Linter. Sandy has been working in the beauty industry for decades and is currently the Global Ambassador for Lancôme cosmetics, a favorite of makeup mavens young and old, from Lea Michele (her makeup artist uses it on the star all the time) to seemingly ageless company spokeswoman Julia Roberts. What’s Sandy’s can’t miss tip for looking amazing? Don’t skip the makeup! Even a little concealer, a dash of mascara and a glossy, pretty lip will instantly improve your complexion and give you a forever young glow!

The versatile actress has landed her first big beauty campaign for the luxury lifestyle brand!

Kirsten Dunst has a whole new role – as an international beauty icon! The A-list actress has just landed her first big beauty contract as the face of Bulgari’s newest fragrance.  Want more news on the On The Road actress’ newest fragrance gig? Read on!

WWD reports that the actress has will be the face of their forthcoming women’s fragrance, Mon Jasmin Noir.  The perfume will be released worldwide in April, but Bulgari’s not waiting until then to start the excitement. Dunst is set to atttend a ‘Mediterranean Eden’-themed gala event as the guest of honor during Milan Fashion Week on February 25th at the Bulgari Hotel to build buzz for the big global launch.

Interesting choice, don’t you think? This makes two of director Sofia Coppola’s previously “ungettable” leading ladies who have now landed big fragrance deals. First, Natalie Portman was announced as the face of Miss Dior Cherie, now Dunst with Bulgari. I wonder if Dunst will follow Portman’s lead and have Coppola shoot the ads for the fragrance. At any rate, it will be interesting to see the campaign with Dunst portrayed as an international glamour girl.

What happened to her eyelashes?!? Here’s how to make sure this doesn’t happen to you!

Kourtney Kardashian was spotted at her book signing in Santa Monica, looking rather pretty (nice updo, glowing skin, lovely lip color) except one thing: her crazy long, clumpy mascara! Her eyelashes look crazy! Want to make sure this makeup disaster never happens to you? Read on!

Here’s what I think went wrong:

False lashes – Using false lashes is a great way to add volume to your look and single lashes, when applied properly, can really look beautiful. Be sure to use them somewhat sparingly and make sure that the length of the lashes don’t extend so far from your own lashes that they look abnormal. If your lashes are short, use a strip so they’re all one length.

Old mascara – First of all, you should be replacing your mascara every three months at a minimum. Smell the wand. If it smells like gasoline, it’s got all sorts of bacteria in there (ew!) which means it’s time to get rid of it.  Also, clumps aren’t normal and it means the formula is starting to dry and break down. Throw it away and get a new mascara.

Get rid of clumps – You can purchase extra mascara wands for almost nothing at a beauty supply store. Use a clean one to lift and separate your mascara.

Spidery bottom lashes - Your bottom lashes should NOT be as thick and long as your top lashes, nor should they have that much mascara. It looks crazy! As I said in the Monday Makeup Minute, the new Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara has a smaller wand that will allow you to control the amount and placement of mascara on your bottom lashes.

The star looked absolutely gorgeous singing on the broadcast. Here’s how to steal her gorgeous beauty look!

While everyone was listening to Glee’s Lea Michele deliver a heartfelt performance of “America The Beautiful,”I have to admit that I was very captivated by something else as lovely: her makeup! How gorgeous did she look last night?!? Want to know what was used on her pretty face? Lancôme! Read on to get the look!

Lea again turned to her go-to glam goddess, celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis, who used all amazing Lancôme products on the star’s face. The look turned out soft and pretty while adding a glow and color that translated beautifully on camera. This is a perfect date look for Valentine’s Day: it’s so pretty and soft. Love it!

There’s only one caveat to the Get The Look gallery: Lea’s makeup artist actually used Lancôme L’Absolu Nu Lipcolor in Buff Silk on her pretty lips, but since the color isn’t available until March, you can swap in the Pale Lip color I’ve listed below.

Oh, and while her fragrance for the evening was not revealed, I just had to add Lancôme Tresor In Love! It’s such a pretty fragrance and it’s also perfect for date night. The scent has an alluring, romantic body with ripe fruits, rose, jasmine and – as they nuzzle closer – the warmth of cedar wood and musk. It’s a must this season, ladies!

Everyone wants that “big movie kiss” moment – the one where everything is perfect down to your gorgeous lips. Well, one of the biggest red carpet trends is perfect for your big movie kiss moment this Valentine’s Day – pink lip gloss! Which one should you choose for your own big Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart lip lock? Read on for tips!

First of all, pink lip gloss is one of the most feminine, lovely ways to catch someone eyes. If red lips can catch a man’s eye from across the room, think of pink lip as the way to get them to kiss you. Red draws them to you, pink keeps them there.

How do you best work this come-hither color? It depends on your skin tone. Here’s a really quick guide I would suggest:

Pale skin tones look pretty in anything with a blue undertone from ice pink to dark fuschia. Avoid colors with a brown or slightly ruddy undertone, like mauves and wear coral colors with a little self-tanner so they don’t wash you out.

Medium/Olive skin tones should look for pinks with a golden undertone. Stay away from icy pink colors and avoid too much blue or purple undertones. How will you know if that happens? It will make your skin look sort of grey and lifeless.

Dark skin tones should look that have a touch of lavender, purple or brown as a base. Spicy berry pinks always look lovely and dark rose colors always look pretty. You should stay away from anything that has a white undertone. Chalk undertones against ethnic skin also creates the same problem as the medium/olive girls have – it will make your skin look ashy and grey.

The universal pink glosses? Smashbox O-Gloss and mark. Glossblossom Ripening Lip Tint. Both contain technology that allows the gloss to customize itself to the perfect pink for you and you alone. You can’t miss with those glosses, girls!

The star announced her new position as the Global Ambassador for the Gillette Venus brand and Hollywood Life was there! Watch!

I reported yesterday morning that Jennifer Lopez was just announced the Global Brand Ambassador for Gillette Venus. Well, that afternoon she made a dazzling formal announcement and I was there to catch the whole thing on video! Watch the clip!

After standing out in the freezing temperatures for almost an hour to get in (which is not remotely fun in 21 degree temperatures), a few select editors were seated in NYC’s famed Radio City Music Hall, where eventually La Lopez descended the stairs and made her new spokesperson position officially known to the world. You can hear the paparazzi calling behind me. It’s a good insight to what the red carpet is like!

I have to say that I agree with this brand ambassador appointment. The woman does have amazing legs and – I mean this sincerely – is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in person. All those photographs we post is one thing, but this video and the pictures in this post aren’t retouched in any way – this woman is flawless as is. Bravo, JLo!

One of the world’s biggest pop sensations partnered with a top-selling razor? Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

The pop icon wants her new signature fragrance to smell like bodily fluids. Is THAT the scent YOU’D prefer to wear?!?

Lady Gaga is well known for being completely outrageous and has made an entire career out of being as talented as she is offbeat. Well, this recent announcement of how she would prefer to have her signature scent smell is…shall we say, less than appetizing? She wants it to smell like blood and semen? GAG! Read on, beauty fans!

Fashionista reports that insiders who are responsible for creating the pop star’s forthcoming celebrity fragrance say that she’s requested it to – and you can’t make this stuff up –  “smell of blood and semen.”

Now, in Gaga’s defense, this isn’t the first time this scent has been requested. Designer Rad Hourani listed semen as one of the inspirations for the fragrance he created for Six Scents. Tom Ford reported listed “a man’s crotch” as one of the inspirations behind his best-selling fragrance, Black Orchid.

I’m all for unusual inspirations – and maybe the two separately are totally fine – but when you think about the mixture of these two elements, you don’t even want to SEE it, much less SMELL it or SMELL LIKE IT.

You know what’s crazy? Lady Gaga is an absolute genius. It’ll probably smell amazing and sell out everywhere. The funny thing is, when you tell people what you’re wearing, do you describe EXACTLY what those top notes are? My guess is no or the scent could be called “Lady GAG-a.”
