Celebs like Ke$ha and Scarlett Johansson have been spotted sporting tiny side cornrows in their hair, and now Carmen Electra, 40, is the latest in the line of celebs trying out this head-turning new trend. Do you think this will be a hot trend for 2013 — or should it disappear, stat?

Carmen has been bringing out this cornrow style with full force lately. She is already making this look a trend to watch this year! Paired with loose locks and sultry makeup, this ‘do works well to transform her sassy style from the red carpet to the stage! The contrast of her dark roots and platinum blonde braids, however, is more jarring than the delicate ombre of her loose waves.

Asymmetrical styles are popping up all over the place in many shapes and forms, but this edgy side cornrow style is quickly brewing up a bunch of celeb fans. This textured look spices up even the simplest of strands and emphasizes severe side parts (another major trend!) without the commitment of more permanent asymmetrical styles like buzzed side patches or undercuts.

A few braids tucked to the side is an easier — and quicker! —  way to try out the always trendy cornrow style instead of making the huge time commitment involved with twisting a full head of braids. This look turns Carmen’s sophisticated loose waves into an edgy style fit for the Vegas stage!

Simon Cowell is a major ladies man, and Carmen Electra is one of the hottest women on earth, but it’s what HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned about the newly-confirmed couple‘s PDA that  may make you blush!

“Carmen has been at a handful of tapings for The X Factor and has been sitting in the front row, and Simon has often gone over to her and hugged and kissed her during commercial breaks. He doesn’t hide his liking for whatsoever,” a source close to production at the show tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, adding, “He originally wanted her to be the new judge on America’s Got Talent, and that still might happen! That is one of the reasons they have started to hang out. Plus Carmen is friends with Howard Stern, so that helped discussions and got them closer.”

The duo have been seen out on dinners in recent weeks, but have been coy about their relationship — that is, until Simon opened up to Ryan Seacrest during an appearance on his radio show. “She’s not my girlfriend,” Simon said. “We’re people who date. She’s adorable, isn’t she?”

Our source also adds that they certainly have some major PDA off-set as well! “A couple weeks back, as I was leaving the studio, he was arm-in-arm with her, involved in some PDA flirting as they headed back to his three-story trailer alone!”

More power to them! If this works out for Simon, it couldn’t have happened to a better guy! Good luck to them both!

Television’s meanest judge has shown his soft side, as Simon Cowell recently admitted that he is dating 90210′s most recent guest star Carmen Electra. He told his good friend and former colleague Ryan Seacrest that they are seeing each other, and that he thinks Carmen is “adorable.” Aw!

CARMEN & SIMON: THE BACKSTORY

Carmen and Simon became friendly earlier this year when Carmen was a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent. They seemed pretty cosy when they were sitting next to each other! Simon is currently in L.A., finishing the second season of The X Factor, which will air it’s finale on Dec. 20.

Simon and Carmen have been seen on several dates in recent weeks, and finally on Dec. 19, Simon revealed that they are dating, but Carmen is not his girlfriend. “She’s not my girlfriend,” Simon told Ryan. “We’re people who date. She’s adorable, isn’t she?”

And the feeling is mutual! Carmen recently gushed about Simon and explained how they began dating. She said, ”He’s so cute. He is adorable. He’s actually a sweetheart… I really liked him. I think he’s really cool. Now, obviously, he’s in [Los Angeles] with X Factor and we started to hang out and we became friends. I think he’s a great guy.”

The pair have been rumored to be dating since they were seen engaged in some PDA on a lunch date at an L.A. restaurant in September. A fellow diner, who saw them, said that, “They were getting very cosy. They were holding hands and staring into each other’s eyes – and then they started making out. They were with other friends at the restaurant but didn’t seem to mind.”

They sound like they make a great couple!

Personally, I’m always weary of what we’ll find on the red carpet at any music awards show, (let alone a country show), but the red carpet at the 2012 American Country Awards was quite interesting! We saw sparkling minis, bright jewel tones and a slew of outfit changes on the likes of Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Carmen Electra and more — and you can see everyone who made our best dressed list right here.

Carmen showed off not one but two sexy dresses, while Carrie was back to her feminine frocks showing off a lace Georges Chakra Couture bubble dress. From the pretty peach hue to the lines of pearls, the look was classic Carrie. While last week she surprised us in a more edgy black jumpsuit, on this occasion she embraced her feminine style. Personally, I think both looks are great on the star — but I do wish she would experiment more with her hair from time to time!

Another star who kept it fun and feminine on the red carpet was Jewel. The bubble-gum pink, sparkling one-shoulder David Meister frock fit her perfectly and she accessorized it so well, however I wish it was a different color. While the pink was pretty, I think she would’ve looked much more elegant had it been a different hue.

Leann Rimes turned up putting her svelte figure on full display in a long-sleeved black Dolce & Gabbana form-fitting frock. While I loved her sexy Tom Ford pumps, her large white clutch seemed so out of place with her sleek get-up.

90210‘s already star-studded fifth season is getting even more stellar in the coming weeks. The show’s Nov. 12 episode, titled “Hate 2 Love,” features the arrival of Carmen Electra as Vesta, who apparently helps Silver (Jessica Stroup) become the best burlesque dancer she can be! Silver’s baby will be so proud of its mom someday.

The new photos also give us our first look at Nelly Furtado, who appears and performs as herself.

1. Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) reveals she and Dixon (Tristan Wilds) are having “intimacy issues.”

2. Annie’s feelings for Colin intensify, but Riley (Riley Smith) believes Colin “isn’t who he appears to be.”

3. Alec has a GPS tracking app installed in Naomi’s (AnnaLynne McCord) phone, but Colin “reconfigures” her phone so she can expose Alec (Trai Byers).

4. Navid (Michael Steger Jr.) tries to impress Silver with the opening of the Pop Up. He also suspects that she’s secretly seeing Liam (Matt Lanter).

5. Liam and Lindsey (Peyton List) meet to talk business — but they hook up instead.
