Fans who may have been hoping for a third movie in the Sex and the City franchise, shouldn’t hold their breath. Due to Sarah Jessica Parker’s age, Candace Bushnell, the author of Sex and the City, doesn’t think there will be a third installment on the big screen.

“No. Look, Sarah Jessica Parker is 47. I think with the second movie, Carrie Bradshaw couldn’t be an ingenue anymore. But I think they were stuck doing what the audience wanted. Realistically, a middle-aged woman who was married without children would be much more focused on her career and less focused on this Mr. Big: ‘Does he love me?’ … ‘Does he still not love me?’ I mean, I think it was coming to the end of what they could do with the character,” Candace told The Daily Beast.

Some fans may celebrate this new development. While the first movie was loved by fans and critics, the second was panned across all platforms. Fans felt let down by the second installment, and the thought of a third movie may make some nervous.

Candace Bushnell: How I Would Have Changed The Second Movie

Candace doesn’t believe the girls should have left New York City in the sequel. If you recall, they traveled to Abu Dhabi and got into all sorts of shenanigans overseas.

“If it were up to me, the second movie would have been Carrie Bradshaw decides to run for mayor and Samantha helps her. It would get into some real issues of what happens when you’re part of a relationship and the woman is ambitious. What does that do to her relationship with Mr. Big? To me, that would be interesting. But they were not going to go there,” Candace said.

Candace would have possibly also changed the end game for Carrie and Big if she directed the second film.

Carrie & Big Would’ve Never Ended Up Together In Real Life

“[Carrie and Big would not end up together in real life]. In real life, I don’t think women end up with that character, and if they do, they usually get divorced after a year. He couldn’t commit. Here’s the thing. I think the character Carrie and Mr. Big, it became in the audiences’ mind a very romantic story,” Candace added.

While we appreciate Candace’s opinions, we’d LOVE to have a SatC 3! And SJP is definitely not too old to win our hearts over again!

AnnaSophia Robb looked almost unrecognizable March 21 in Queens, N.Y., where she was shooting scenes for The CW’s Carrie Diaries pilot, based on Candace Bushnell‘s prequel to the Sex and the City series. A TV version of Candace Bushnell‘s book series The Carrie Diaries has long been in the works at The CW, and now HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively that a script is officially in the hands of network executives. Our source tells us “the show is now in the process of finding its Carrie.”

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Carrie is the only original Sex and the City girl who is set to appear on the show — at least initially — and the network is hoping to land a “big name” actress to fill the title role.

Sex And The City scribe Candace Bushnell and her ballet dancer husband Charles Askegard are getting a divorce.

Candace, 53, and Charles, 43, are keeping things amicable through their split, the New York Post reports.

“We had some wonderful times in our nine-year marriage, and I still care about Charles as a person,” Candace told the publication through her rep. “I respect his desire to pursue his own happiness and hope that we will continue to be friends in the future.”

Sonja and her Upper East Side style debuted last night on Bravo … and we loved it!

Who would give away a $3,000 Chanel suite? Sonja Morgan, the newest member of the exclusive Real Housewives of New York City club, would — and she did on her debut episode April 15! But this is nothing new for Sonja. The Upper East Side socialite knows high end fashion very well!

“I love beautiful clothing and the glamour,” Sonja said on last night’s episode. “I will always be in style and it will always be flattering.”

As we saw on the show, she even has closets full of outfits for different cities she travels to. “St. Tropez/Miami is the resort sexy clothing,” Sonja tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. ”Palm Beach/CT/Hamptons is the more staid clothing, but still fashionable which gets put in my day to day closets when it’s summer. Colorado is the sporty. Gstaad is a whole other story. It’s not Aspen.”

And the other Housewives agree that Sonja knows how to sport undeniable style. “Sonja is a sexy pistol,” Countess LuAnn de Lesseps said. ”She loves men, she loves parties. She’s vivacious. She’s a little crazy — that’s what I love about her.”

We have to agree too: “When Sonja Morgan walks in the room, she’s still the straw that stirs the drinks.” She’s not scared to show off her style and have a good time.

“I’ve come out with some doosies (outfits) sometime,” Sonja tells us. “Sometimes they’re a hit, other times they fall apart. You can’t live in fear. If you get comments, not from your five year old daughter, but from adults or other mothers, that you’re not looking right, that’s when you change your fashion. If your not getting negative press, I don’t care how old are. Look at Madonna and Sher. They always look great!”
