Forget about balancing work and motherhood, what about sex and motherhood? Well, Julianne Moore says that’s no simple task when you’re running around on mommy duty. “I think [to feel sexy,] you need to be away from your children,” the actress, 50, explains to Tom Ford in the March issue of InStyle magazine. “Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life.” Are you having trouble balancing parenthood and pleasure, too, HollyMoms?

Julianne, who has a son Caleb, 13, and daughter Liv, 8, goes on to explain that she feels the sexiest when she’s alone with her husband Bart Freundlich, 41, especially when they can sneak away on a romantic trip together. The daily grind of taking care of the kids is what puts a dent in their love life. “The day-to-day of picking up kids and going to the eye doctor and then dropping them off at basketball and then going to the middle school concert doesn’t make you feel very sexy,” she explains. Even if it does cramp her sex life a bit, what matters most to Julianne is spending quality time with her family. “I want to be with my husband and kids as much as I can,” she tells the Guardian.
