For those who thought the biggest event of Apr. 14 would be the 2013 MTV Movie Awards totally underestimated the Twi-hards. To protest the award show’s spiteful decision to nominate Breaking Dawn – Part 2 for only one award, the fans skipped the show and re-watched the movie instead!

‘Breaking Dawn’ Fans Boycott MTV Movie Awards

Under the hashtag “#BreakingDawnPart2Night,” Twi-hards started a viral campaign to boycott the MTV Movie Awards. It was a fun display of fan advocacy, one that dissed MTV but also allowed Breaking Dawn fans to watch their favorite movie together via Twitter. But mostly, the Twilight poison campaign on Apr. 14 was meant to attack MTV.

“I wonder how MTV feels about having s**t ratings #BreakingDawn2Night,” one particularly enraged fan tweeted. Another fan posted a homemade picture calling MTV’s diss “unjust” and “unfair.”

MTV Movie Awards Totally Disses ‘Breaking Dawn’

The Twi-hards have a reason to be angry. For the past four years, the Twilight films have been top award-winners at the MTV Movie Awards. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won Best Kiss for four straight years, and they weren’t even nominated this year!

MTV nominated Twilight big-time for four years and their ratings surely got a boost because of it. Twi-hards were loyal to the MTV Movie Awards and then the network dissed Breaking Dawn – Part 2 completely out of the blue!

That’s why the Twilight fans are fighting back. Kristen is up for Best Hero for her role in Snow White and the Huntsmen, but she’s even fallen behind in that award race. But hey, that’s probably because hardly any of her fans are even watching the show anymore!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from Breaking Dawn Part 2 weren’t nominated for Best Kiss by the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Let that sink in.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart — Totally Snubbed!

I’m writing this because I can barely speak — I’m that surprised. This is like if Daniel Day Lewis didn’t get nominated for an Oscar for his role in Lincoln. This is like if the NBA had told Michael Jordan in 1998 that he wasn’t allowed to play anymore.

Because Rob and Kristen are literally the Michael Jordans of the MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss category. The couple has won the award FOUR years in a row! Every installation of the Twilight saga has returned a Best Kiss victory. They should have been nominated on merit alone!

Even though I didn’t think a legacy vote was necessary for Breaking Dawn Part 2, you know, the movie where Bella becomes a vampire and she and Edward can finally hook up without worrying that his overpowering strength is going to kill her.

So yes, the sex scene that even director Bill Condon has praised for its steaminess has been passed over by MTV. How could they!?

2013 MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss: And The Nominees Are…

I’d get it if 2012 was a huge year for iconic (speaking of iconic, Twilight co-star recently described R-Patz and K-Stew as such) kisses — but it wasn’t! I can barely remember half the kisses that are nominated. Not to be a sore loser (which is totally what I’m being), but Emma Watson and Logan Lerman’s kiss from Perks Of Being A Wallflower was epic at the time, but hardly memorable enough.

The kisses from Django Unchained and Ted were even less grand though. And while the smooch between kid actors Kara Heyward and Jared Gilman was incredibly cute, is anyone really voting for Moonrise Kingdom? The obvious winner here has to be Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook. Do you think in their acceptance speech they’ll thank MTV for not nominating Rob and Kristen? Because they should.

MTV Movie Awards: Nomination Conspiracy Theories

I think some sort of conspiracy is afoot. MTV knew Rob and Kristen would win the award for the fifth straight year if they had been nominated. So either they got tired of handing out the popcorn trophy to the couple and decided to pave the way for another winner, or it’s something even crazier. Is it possible that MTV didn’t want to make things awkward by giving a broken up couple the Best Kiss award?

Actually, this is the only explanation I will accept.

With Bella Swan as a vampire at the beginning of Breaking Dawn Part 2, we all thought the same thing: what’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s sex scene going to be like now!?

Robert Pattinson Gets Into Character

Just being honest — the fact that K-Stew’s Bella Swan became powerful enough to withstand Edward Cullen’s unimaginable vampire strength had huge implications for their bedroom behavior. Simply put, they could amp up the intensity!

Apparently everyone on the set of Breaking Dawn thought the same thing. In the new bonus features attached to the movie’s DVD (out on Feb. 28), director Bill Condon explains how Rob approached the scene.

Besides pondering how wild and crazy Rob could get with Kristen, he also put himself in Edward’s shoes to figure out what piece of Bella he’d be lusting for the most.

‘Breaking Dawn’s’ Steamy Sex Scene: Edward Cullen’s Sweet Spot

“Rob was totally into the idea,” Bill says, “right before she pushed him onto the bed — that the first place he would go for is her neck.”

Of course! Since the beginning of their relationship, Edward’s self-control had been on line — love was interfering with his nature as a vampire.

“It’s the one place he hasn’t trusted himself to kiss before,” Bill continues, “It would be too difficult to resist the urge to bite her.”

The Breaking Dawn director and Rob also agreed that Edward had “been dreaming [about kissing her neck] since he first met her in that classroom.”

The no holds barred attitude Edward and Bella definitely made the scene super steamy and sexy. Now we’re just wondering if Rob and Kristen took a few notes from the shoot and took them back into the bedroom!

Robert Pattinson wasn’t just playing the role of a father in Breaking Dawn Part 2 — he legitimately loved being around the kids! When Rob had to interact the babies who played young Renesmee in the film, the movie’s director Bill Condon reveals Rob seemed truly in his element.

“It was amazing to watch Rob with the babies [who portrayed young Renesemee while making the film],” Bill said in the Breaking Dawn Part 2 making-of documentary.

“He would just turn into this completely different person. He just loved being around kids and he would actually argue and say, ‘why do I have to keep giving the baby away to other people? I don’t get to hold her enough’ or ‘I don’t get to be with her enough.”

“He really seemed to love playing off of children,” Bill added.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Were ‘Amazing’ Parents On Set

Bill Condon also gushed about how good Rob and Kristen were with Mackenzie Foy, 12, who played the child version of Renesmee.

”They were amazing with her,” he told Entertainment Weekly. ”It really brought something paternal out in Rob, and Kristen was especially protective. I’d have to interrupt them when they were in deep conversation to get going with a scene.”

Sounds like Rob has great paternal instincts!

We know that Kristen Stewart wants to take on more racy roles in her future, but who knew that one of Kristen’s scenes from Breaking Dawn Part 2 was so racy that it had to be removed by the MPAA!

“We had one shot that the MPAA complained about where there’s a closeup of Rob kissing [Kristen's] shoulder. They thought they saw nudity, but there wasn’t any, but they have filthy minds, clearly… We had to keep showing it to them until they were sure they weren’t seeing anything naughty,” director Bill Condon said in the DVD documentary.

“As Twilight series devotees know, there was a lot of ground to cover in adapting Breaking Dawn to the screen. Breaking Dawn Part 2 got slammed at the Razzies on Feb. 23, an Academy Awards spoof that hands out prizes for Hollywood’s lousiest movies on the eve of the Oscars.

The final installment of the Twilight saga managed to take home 7 “wins” including Worst Picture, Worst Actress (Kristen Stewart) Worst Supporting Actor (Taylor Lautner), Worst Screen Couple (Lautner and 12 year-old Mackenzie Foy) and Worst Screen Ensemble, which included Robert Pattinson.

The film also picked up Worst Remake/Rip-Off or Sequel and Worst Director for Bill Condon, making the fifth and final Twilight film 2012′s most-RAZZed movie.

But fret not! Breaking Dawn Part 2 may have taken home the most awards this year, but they didn’t do as bad as Adam Sandler’s Jack & Jill, which managed to take home 10 awards — in every category it was nominated for.

Plus, sad news for Rihanna — she picked up an award for Worst Supporting Actress, making her big screen debut in Battleship a total flop.

Since Robert Pattinson has been down under, filming The Rover in Australia, he and Kristen Stewart have been working through a trial separation. A source close to Summit Entertainment, who produced the Twilight Saga, tells HollywoodLife.com that, as the March 2 release date for the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 DVD nears, the company wants the couple to be together beforehand. “They want both Rob & Kristen to be seen somewhere together right before the release of the DVD in March, and they think they will be able to get that achieved whether they are rekindled or broken up.”

Our insider adds that, for the two, it may require a little forcing. “If they aren’t a couple, them being together will be their last acting gig together.”
