Robert Pattinson’s new film Bel Ami opens in select cities June 8 and we’re excited to see the actor take off his shirt again and again!

The reviews for Bel Ami have been swarming in and most critics are absolutely loving Rob’s performance! And we couldn’t agree more!

Graham Young of Birmingham Mail says, “Robert Pattinson is proof some guys have all the luck!” Jane Crowther of Total Film adds, ”A good-looking yet curiously tame adaptation of a saucy classic that showcases Pattinson’s ambition if not his full abilities.”

Movie Fanatic couldn’t get enough of Rob who is “downright fierce in the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel Bel Ami.”

For Robert Levin of AM New York, “Pattinson is a major asset, carrying the production despite his limited range. The actor is a gifted, prolific on-screen brooder, and it’s fun to watch him, even if he’s essentially playing a sadder version of “Twilight” vampire Edward Cullen. He fits right into this material — a blistering critique of a man who can’t overcome his self-hatred.”

“Pattinson, it must be said, seems to be more comfortable here than in his previous attempt at a period piece, ‘Little Ashes,’ in which Salvador Dalí’s mustache wore the actor rather than vice versa.” Alonso Duralde of The Wrap added.

Robert Pattinson isn’t as confident as you might have thought! The 25-year-old actor was really insecure on the set of his upcoming movie Bel Ami!

Rob’s co-star Christina Ricci appeared on The View on May 9 and she revealed what Rob was like during their sex scenes last year on the Bel Ami set!

“One it’s acting and two Rob is just fantastic and all he and I did was make fun of each other the entire time,” she said. “And laugh and make jokes, and I’d be like ‘ugh this is so uncomfortable’ and he’d be like ‘I feel awful look how ugly I am.’ and I’d say ‘ya you’re really ugly, I wish I looked like that!’”

At long last we’re going to see Bel Ami! Robert Pattinson‘s new movie is now going to be premiering at the Catalina Film Festival in California May 5.

The drama has already premiered overseas and R-Patz fans can’t stop raving. According to the website, “Catalina Film Festival is a competitive festival with awards in up to 10 categories, including the prestigious Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation ‘Great Communicator’ Award and the ISLA Earth Award; an honor presented by the Festival’s beneficiary, the Catalina Island Conservancy.”

Christina, 32, is one of three women the Twilight star courts in the film.

Robert Pattinson‘s female co-stars just can’t get enough of him. Christina Ricci plays one of his love interests in the upcoming Bel Ami flick and she says she feels “lucky” to have worked with him!

“He is incredibly proficient and professional. He is such a lovely, lovely human being and I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to play this part with someone who is so kind and as much of a partner as he is when we are filming,” she says. “You definitely feel like a team.”

But it doesn’t sound like it was all hard work on the set, it turns out these two had a blast!

“And again, he and I just laugh all the time and giggle,” she adds. “We just have a really good time together. He is just fun to be around, lovely.”

Wow, well if she had this much fun with him, imagine how awesome it was for Rob and Kristen Stewart on the Breaking Dawn set!

Bel Ami was finally given a United States release date late month, and now Robert Pattinson fans are being treated to a brand new trailer! In the film, set in Paris during the 1880s, the Twilight star plays ruthless young go-getter Georges Duroy, who walks all over women in order to achieve a higher social status.

“The most important people in Paris are not men, but their wives,” Uma Thurman‘s Madeleine instructs Georges, a lesson he learns only too well.

On his way to the top of Parisian society, Georges — nicknamed Bel Ami — seduces Uma, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas. When he’s finished with them, he throws them away. “It’s not enough to be loved,” he says. “It’s so clear to me.”

The nickname “Bel Ami” translates to “beautiful friend” in English. We have to hand it to the producers for casting the role so perfectly!

It looks like we’re going to see a whole new side of Rob in this movie. June 8 can’t come soon enough!

Magnolia Pictures has acquired Bel Ami and it is set to hit theaters on June 8, Variety reports.

“Bel Ami is a well-crafted, appealing film with a terrific ensemble cast,” Eamonn Bowles from Magnolia says.
