Apparently there are some parties even Kim Kardashian can’t buy her way into! The reality star was noticeably missing from the 2012 Met Ball earlier this week — Kanye West, while dashing, looked awfully lonely — and now the real reason behind her absence has finally been revealed.

Anna Wintour, is the Costume Institute Gala’s co-chair and oversees both the benefit committee and the guest list. A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Anna approves “every single person, outfit and aspect of the event.”

“[Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour] hates Kim,” a Kardashian source tells RadarOnline.com. “Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn’t fit that bill at all.”

Ouch! But would Kanye really go the this event without his lady love by his side? But on the other hand, Kim was busy promoting her Sears Kardashian Kollection line with her sisters at back-to-back photo shoots. Kim is a busy lady and maybe she didn’t have time to go to the ball?

But apparently Anna’s hatred for the Kardashians goes beyond the Met Ball.

“Anna would allow Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue over her dead body,” the source continues. “As long as Anna is in charge you will NOT see Kim on Vogue.”

Poor Kim! She may have gotten her start on reality TV, but we still think she would have looked gorgeous at the ball.

As pretty and graceful as Kate Middleton is, why would she not want to appear on the cover of fashion’s most prestigious magazine? Could it be that secretly the princess is all for the idea but there may be a higher, more authoritative power standing in the way? That higher power being the likes of her grandmother-in-law, aka The Queen?

As you all are aware, Editor and Chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour, had been ferociously hunting down the Duchess of Cambridge like a fashionista at a Barney’s sample sale — but was unsuccessful. Though it has been uncertain as to why Kate would turn down such an amazing opportunity, rumors are circulating that the Queen of England is disapproving of the idea.

“Kate is keenly conscious that her new grandmother-in-law may not chide for her appearing on a Vogue cover,” a Palace source told E!, “But she would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squire with simply a look or a ‘tut tut.’”

The DailyMail.com reported that Anna pulled out all the stops, even contacting renowned photographer Mario Testino, who is said to have a close relationship with the Royals but even that can’t assure a Kate cover.

As much as we’d love to see Kate grace the cover of the fashion bible, we definitely wouldn’t want her to do anything that would grant her a royal snub from Her Highness!

Kate Middleton on the cover of American Vogue, could it be true? If Anna Wintour, Editor-in-chief of the high fashion magazine, gets her way then you better believe it! Sources say Anna is pulling out all the stops in an attempt to land Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge as her next cover girl. In fact, she has even reached out to famed photog Mario Testino, in hopes that he can convey the message to Kate.

“Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover,” sources tell Page Six. Mario shot William and Kate’s official engagement photos and is known for his iconic photographs of Princess Diana. He remains a close family friend and has strong ties to the British royals — but will he be able to convince Kate?

The Duchess has yet to be shot for a magazine. In fact, she even declined the chance to be a British Vogue cover girl prior to her nuptials — editor Alexandra Shulman hoped Kate would be photographed by Mario for a wedding edition.

“Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue,” another source said. “But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate.”

Considering the Duchess and her ability to blend street fashion with high-end frocks has become quite the sensation, it’s only a matter of time before she accepts a cover — but will it be Vogue? “There’s nothing trashy or vulgar about her,” Anna said in the past. “She dresses her age and never looks out of place.”

The style-savvy pair sat next to each other at fashion designer Rodarte‘s presentation Tuesday morning, as documented by Women’s Wear Daily‘s twitpic. On Monday, the fashion flock was buzzing that Anna was sitting next to outlandish singer Nicki Minaj at Carolina Herrera‘s show. While that pairing was considered kooky, Anna’s pairing with Taylor signaled a possible collaboration.

Taylor is definitely no stranger to the Vogue family, having appeared on Teen Vogue‘s recent August cover, as well as its March 2009 cover.

As for Vogue, Taylor appeared in a pictorial for the magazine’s May 2010 issue, photographed by legendary celeb shutterbug Annie Leibovitz.

So here’s hoping that stunning Taylor soon graces the cover of Vogue. What do you think, HollywoodLifers?

Of course, the big question is — will Nicki Minaj soon be seen on the legendary fashion mag’s cover just like Lady Gaga, who graced the March 2011 issue in a pink wig.

The next question — what is god’s name, did these two have to chat about as they waited for the Carolina Herrera show to begin.

Third question — what was Nicki Minaj doing at chic Carolina Herrerra’s show anyway? Carolina usually tastefully dolls up Renée Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon. Nicki Minaj would be quite a new direction for her as a client. Interesting direction. But surprising.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star, and muse to most every enviable designer, has been appointed an ambassador for the luxurious French fashion house — and their latest model!

She stars in the hit show Gossip Girl, has the much anticipated film The Green Lantern on the horizon, will almost surely be making the awards show rounds with her film The Town, and now, the eternally gorgeous and forever busy Blake Lively, can add two more jobs to her ever growing resume — official ambassador and model for Chanel!

The 23-year-old starlet was selected by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld for her new role and to front the fashion house’s upcoming handbag campaign. “She’s a kind of American dream girl, ” Karl told WWD. “I think she will become a great actress.”

Blake’s sure to be stunning ads will be released in April and were shot at the house’s famed Rue Cambon headquarters in Paris. Karl and Blake were first introduced by another fashion powerhouse, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, during Paris couture week.

So to recap, Blake met Karl through Anna, who made her an ambassador for one of the world’s most chic and timeless fashion houses, and she will now, when not starring in blockbuster and critically acclaimed films, be fronting their new ad campaign. Oh, and did we mention that Christian Louboutin named a shoe after her?

The formerly classy and respectful Tim is at it again, this time lashing out at a teenager! Is this crossing the line?

Tim Gunn is continuing his verbal attacks towards celebrities and this time has targeted 17-year-old Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen! Just days after mocking Vogue editrix Anna Wintour Tim said to E! Online about filming with the actress, “What a diva! She was pathetic, she couldn’t remember her lines, and she didn’t even have that many. I thought to myself ‘why are we all being held hostage by this brat?” Doesn’t that seem a bit harsh coming from a 57-year-old?

Tim goes on to say he wanted to tell Taylor, “there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you!” Isn’t he supposed to be a mentor?

Tim’s rage was not just confined to Taylor either as he also attacked the Real Housewives, calling them wild animals! He offers them this tip however, “My advice is to take the high road.”

Maybe you should have taken you own advice before this interview pal!
