Elsa (Jessica Lange)’s off to Hollywood, and the Freak Show is left in the dirty dirty hands of Dandy (Finn Wittrock). But how will he handle it when they all turn against him? Well, he’ll create a spectacle of his own, of course.

In American Horror Story: Freak Show, we’re used to seeing a ton of blood, a ton of violence and well, a lot of emotion. The Dec. 17 episode used emotion more than ever, really pulling at our heart strings when we got a look into Pepper’s past, and got introduced to a side of Elsa (Jessica Lange) we’ve never seen.
Plus, Jimmy mourns the death of his mother in the only way he knows how — drinking, and shutting out the one woman he loves.
Where are the twins? What will Regina (Gabourey Sidibe) do about whens he learns that Dandy (Finn Wittrock) killed her mother? And where does this leave the freak show? Luckily, we found out all of the answers to those questions on the Dec. 10 episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show.
The Nov. 19 episode of ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ featured startling showdowns and one horrifying murder!

Dell (Michael Chiklis) and Jimmy (Evan Peters) finally had it out, Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson) returned to Elsa’s (Jessica Lange) troupe, Penny’s (Grace Gummer) attempt to leave her father’s home ended in complete horror and one fan-favorite tragically lost their life.

In the Halloween episode of ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show,’ we learned that even murderous clowns have their tragic backstories. However, the show went way too far in redeeming Twisty The Clown while Jessica Lange’s Elsa got the shaft! SPOILERS for ‘Edward Mordrake Part 2’ below!
Every superhero has their origin story, and so, too, do parent-killing clowns. In “Edward Mordrake Part 2,” we saw a glimpse of Twisty The Clown’s backstory and his “reasons” for his transition from a carnival clown into a violent murderer. If nothing else, American Horror Story: Freak Show proves that Freaks: They’re Just Like Us. Everyone has their story, sure, but I think that the show went way too far in redeeming Twisty while simultaneously vilifying Elsa. SPOILERS for the Halloween episode below!
In ‘Edward Mordrake Part 2,’ Edward adds to his freakish coterie, Elsa and Twisty’s backstories are revealed, Dandy gets creepier than ever, and death is in the air in Jupiter. Full ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ recap below!
