Alicia Silverstone may have been criticized for her unconventional parenting behavior with son Bear Blu, but it’s clear she loves her 18-month-old son — the two were all smiles during a walk in NYC!

Alicia and her adorable boy were spotted out in the West Village on Nov. 9, and little Bear was as happy as can be while enjoying a tasty treat!

The Clueless actress came under fire in March when she posted a video of her feeding her son pre-chewed food mouth-to-mouth in what is called pre-mastication.

“People have been feeding their kids that way for thousands for years,” she said after the incident went viral. “It’s a weaning process. Honestly, when I posted the video I was not thinking.”

It looks like the little guy has no problem chewing his own food now — except for the goo all over his face!

Just one year after giving birth to a baby boy, Alicia Silverstone is stripping down to her skivvies for a racy new shoot in Bullet magazine.
The 35-year-old actresses poses in a series of shots wearing different types of lingerie, and although she just gave birth to Bear Blu in May 2011, she seems to have regained her killer curves.

Alicia also reveals how she struggled to prove her intelligence after playing the iconic role of Cher in Clueless.

“I remember doing interviews in London for some movie at the time, and the interviewers would want to talk about the movie, of course, but all I wanted to talk about was murder,” she recalled. “They probably expected me to be like the Clueless character, but instead, I was sitting there saying stuff like, ‘And then they anally electrocute!’ I pretty much bummed everyone out.”

Alicia Silverstone stands by pre-chewing food for her son Bear Blu, 11 months. The reason? It makes her laugh, The Daily Mail reports. The actress defended her mouth-to-mouth feeding on April 7 at the Brooklyn Academy of Art and Music in New York after she was questioned about the situation.

“People have been feeding their kids that way for thousands for years,” the 35-year-old mother contends. “It’s a weaning process. Honestly, when I posted the video I was not thinking, so maybe I was like Cher!”

Alicia also accepts that it could be dangerous and unhealthy!  “Any time there’s mouth-to-mouth contact between a mother and their baby it’s going to pass bacteria and possibly viruses,” Dr. Aaron M. Soeprono, DDS at Meridian Denta, told HollywoodLife exclusively. ”I would advise against it.”

Alicia adds: “I wasn’t saying this was anything somebody should do. I wasn’t trying to be independent or cause such a ruckus. I’m very glad that I did it.”

The media firestorm didn’t faze Alicia, but it should!

It’s definitely strange that the actress feeds her son with her mouth, but the late night talk show host made a hilarious challenge out of her method! Watch it here!

Jimmy Kimmel challenged his viewers to “Silverstone” their kids, meaning parents pre-chew food then feed it to their children to see how they react. Stunned and disgusted are just a few of the reactions that kids have — it’s hysterical!

The parents did not actually pre-chew food and feed it mouth-to-mouth, as Alicia Silverstone did to her son, Bear Blu! But they chewed the food, spit it out and presented it on a plate in front of the kids!

Alicia admits she likes chewing her son’s food like a bird, but an expert tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively she could be passing bacteria and viruses to her 11-month-old!

Actress, animal rights activist and health food blogger Alicia Silverstone shocked (and grossed out) everyone when she posted a video her herself feeding her son Bear Blu… with her mouth. She says the tot loves eating mouth-to-mouth, but Dr. Aaron M. Soeprono, DDS at Meridian Dental tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Alicia could be giving her son dangerous viruses and disease!

“Any time there’s mouth-to-mouth contact between a mother and their baby it’s going to pass bacteria and possibly viruses,” Dr. Soeprono tells us. “Also if the mother has periodontal disease, that can unhealthy bacteria that can cause bone destruction. I would advise against it.”

Other experts agree — it’s not advisable. “There are those who think that a mom chewing a baby’s food provides helpful enzymes from her mouth, but it doesn’t seem like a hygienic practice,” nutritionist Dr. Jennifer Landa told FoxNews. “Various viruses and bacteria, but especially herpes virus, may be passed from mother to baby. These microbes present a challenge that the infant’s immune system may not be ready for.”

Besides the health risks, there’s other downsides to Alicia’s strange feeding method. During an appearance on The Today Show, Dr. Nancy Snyderman said Alicia’s son should be learning skills like how to chew on his own and feed himself! “There’s no benefits and certainly a lot of downsides,” she says.

In yucky news of the day, Alicia posted a video of herself feeding her son… with her mouth!

Alicia Silverstone‘s son Bear Blu is obviously too young to feed himself, but the actress goes to extreme lengths — She chews the food for him! In a video she posted to her health food website TheKindLife.com, she takes a spoonful of food, chews it and then passes it open-mouth to the little one.

“I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine,” Alicia wrote. “He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!”
