Although it was believed that Adam would be directing Glee’s Michael Jackson episode, he’ll still be thrilling us by paying homage to this cult ‘70s film!

Adam Shankman dismissed rumors that he would be directing the hotly anticipated Michael Jackson episode of Glee, but he’s still going to be helming one awesome upcoming episode – one that pays tribute to the crazy, zany 1975 cult film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

“Which episode am I directing??? I’ll never tell!” the 45-year-old So You Think You Can Dance judge joked on his Twitter account Sept. 19. He posted the above photograph of himself with stars Cory Monteith and Lea Michele before adding, “I seriously can’t wait to get back to my new favorite people: the cast and crew of #glee tomorrow. Musical #s all week!”

We can’t even begin to think of the possible shenanigans that will ensue when Cory, Lea and the crew take on Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the bisexual scientist from Transsexual, Transylvania and his henchman Riff Raff, a straggly-haired henchman with murderous intent. We can’t wait!

Zac and Justin are after the same role, but who will land the coveted part of Huey Calhoun?

Zac Efron is back to his musical loving ways, and this time the hunky star is ready to test out his acting chops in the big screen adaptation of the Tony-winning musical Memphis. But wait – the role isn’t a lock JUST yet – he’s got some pretty stiff competition!

Justin Timberlake will fight the High School Musical heartthrob to play 1950′s-era Memphis radio DJ Huey Calhoun. Although JT, 29, is originally FROM Memphis, Zac is planning on fighting him tooth and nail for the role.

“I just can’t stay away from the show!” the NY Post reports Zac told girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens and Hairspray director Adam Shankman while taking in the Broadway musical August 17; it was his second time at the show in a month.

The film will be directed by Oliver Stone with music by Bon Jovi’s David Bryan and Joe DiPiertro. In essence, it’s going to be one hot ticket. No wonder both boys are fighting for the part!

Forget beautiful leaps and graceful steps! Finalists Lauren, Robert and Kent tell us they had a food fight in their apartment to celebrate becoming the final three!

Lauren Froderman, Robert Roldan and Kent Boyd, the final three contestants on the seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance, have dazzled us week after week with their gravity-defying lifts and flawless performances — but don’t mistake their gracefulness for maturity! When these young dancers step off the dance floor they are anything but refined — in fact, they’re down-right childish!

“This is going to sound crazy, but this past week – I can’t believe I’m talking about this – Lauren, Kent, and I had a food fight in our apartment,” 20-year-old jazz dancer, Robert Roldan, who took third place, told HollywoodLife.com exclusively backstage after the season finale Aug. 12. “We threw eggs at each other, Dr. Pepper, cupcakes. We went crazy because we made the top three and we decided to celebrate with a food fight and that’s something I’ll never forget, ever. It was the best thing.”

Who was crowned winner of this glorious battle?

“I don’t know!” Robert admitted, laughing. “I had mustard all over my face and ketchup all over my body, so I don’t really know. Kent had cupcakes in his face and Lauren was drenched—her sweatshirt was a different color. She got cranberry juice or something like that all over her. That was funny.”

That’s not the only incident when these crazy kids stopped pirouetting and spiraled out of control! Host Cat Deeley told us her favorite memory from the season…and it certainly didn’t happen onstage.

“My favorite behind-the-scenes moment of this season was when I had my 4th of July barbecue and all the kids went over to my house and we had burgers and hot dogs and cocktails and beers and sodas for those who weren’t able,” the 33-year-old British beauty said, remembering, “Kent did back flips in my pool. He did one and came out with a bloody nose—it covered half his nose up. Then he did another and came out with exactly the same thing again. I was so told off by my makeup artist. She said, ‘Don’t ever let him do that again!’ He did it once! I thought he had learned his lesson!”

No kidding! These dancers are fearless on and off the stage — which is something that sets them apart from the rest of the competition and ultimately, led audiences to pick their Lauren as their favorite performer, director and choreographer Adam Shankman told us.

“When Lauren was left alone in the center of the two guys, what you saw was that not only was she the most consistent competitor on the show…but she revealed to be a great role model for young women, a hard worker, and a symbol for female empowerment,” Adam said. “So I think the young girls’ votes that were going to Kent, the cute-boy-vote shifted to the you’re-a-hero vote.”

Added winner Lauren, an 18-year-old contemporary dancer from Phoenix, Ariz., “I have been the last girl standing for quite some time and to be able to win, it’s crazy. I feel like it’s a dream and I don’t want to wake up.”

Ryan Seacrest tweeted that Hairspray director Adam was directing the highly-anticipated MJ episode of Glee, but is that the truth? Read on, BFFs!

It would seem like a match made in heaven: Hairspray director Adam Shankman would be helming the eagerly awaited Michael Jackson episode of Glee – but unfortunately, HollywoodLifers, that isn’t QUITE what’s going to happen!

“I didn’t say I was doing the Michael Jackson episode!” the 45-year-old So You Think You Can Dance judge protested backstage at the Fox show August 5 in Los Angeles. “

After hearing that Ryan Seacrest – who had interviewed Adam earlier that day – had tweeted the false news to his followers, he exclaimed, “I love that because all I did was go ‘hee hee’! I literally sent an email to Ryan Murphy saying, ‘I had nothing to do with this.’ What Ryan and I discussed is that the details aren’t all in and I don’t even know what music they’ll use for the episode. He came up with an idea of what he wants me to do. It’s just all in a logistical phase.”

He reconfirmed, “It’s not the [episode] everyone thinks it is.”

As for which Glee cast member he’s most excited to work with, well, the young cast members don’t get Adam’s number one vote! “I love them all. I absolutely adore them. But I’ll tell you who I’m dying to work with: Jane Lynch!”

None of the bottom three dancers were kicked off this week on So You Think You Can Dance — but that means TWO people will go home next week! Yikes!

After all the recent injuries shaking up the competition on So You Think You Can Dance this season, you’d think the show couldn’t get any stranger – but it did! Last night judges Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman and Mia Michaels dropped an unprecedented bombshell: for the first time in the show’s five-year history, the bottom three dancers
were all saved from elimination!

Contemporary dancer Billy Bell, who chose to sit out this week due to a knee injury, was automatically placed in the bottom three. Robert Roldan and Jose Ruiz joined the frontrunner later to dance for their lives, and they both surely did. In fact, many people in the studio were on their feet after they performed their solos.

When judgment time arrived, Nigel admitted on camera, “We haven’t made up our minds.” After critiquing the three guys one-by-one, Nigel announced that because Billy couldn’t be judged against the other dancers, as he hadn’t performed, there would be no elimination! But watch out, BFFS – this means that two of your favorites might be going
home next week during the double elimination round!

The audience went wild after hearing the good news, although I couldn’t help but notice that the dancers who had already been led to safety -– Kent Boyd, Lauren Froderman, and Adechike Torbert -– looked way more shocked than the guys who were nearly sent home!

It may have been surprising, but personally I’m glad that the judges came to this decision. I would’ve hated to see Billy leave – he’s awesome!

18-year-old Lauren Froderman stole the show with her emotional performance on So You Think You Can Dance, but she told us the sad story of why she never wants to do it again

Whoa — talk about a sob session. Lauren Froderman and All-Star Dominic Sandoval‘s heart-wrenching portrayal of an abusive relationship on So You Think You Can Dance last night, June 23, took season seven of Fox’s hit reality show to a much deeper level.

The lyrical hip-hop routine, which was choreographed by new SYTYCD member Tessandra Chavez to Beyonce‘s ‘If I Were A Boy,’ was the stand out performance of the night thanks to 18-year-old Lauren’s realistic portrayal of a girl being abused. But even though judge Adam Shankman praised the normally bubbly blond for becoming “an actor,” Lauren told us she wasn’t actually acting at all.

“I don’t know how much of that is true because actually, this dance was really personal for me. It was real emotion,” she revealed to reporters backstage after the show. “In a way it was really me, and I was really sharing my pain with everybody and hoping that they would accept that.”

Not only did the judges (and the audience) accept Lauren’s pain — they praised her for one of the strongest performances of the evening, which was something the choreographer, Tessandra, didn’t expect only one day before.

Tessandra told HollywoodLife.com exclusively Lauren wasn’t bringing it in rehearsals and was completely devoid of all emotion — what she didn’t realize was how sensitive the topic of abuse is in Lauren’s personal life. It was only after the dancer had a mini-breakdown Tuesday, June 22, that she allowed her pent-up frustration and sadness to emote through her performance.

Someone had to go — and Alexie definitely deserved to be the first eliminated contestant from So You Think You Can Dance this season!

There were group hugs, silly dancing and lots of tears on So You Think You Can Dance’s first elimination show of the season June 17 when jazz dancer Alexie Agdeppa got the boot — but honestly, she deserved to go!

Despite the critiques the 26-year-old jazz dancer received from the judges, I was unimpressed by her hip-hop performance with Twitch. That said, it was sad to see her go, especially after finding out how many times she had tried out for the show (FOUR in total), and she WAS truly adorable, but as judge Mia Michaels said, “cute” can only get you so far!

Although Alexie’s elimination wasn’t all that surprising, watching Cristina Santana having to dance for her life WAS a shock. She became a dark horse after the Wednesday night’s show because of her slinky, sensual jazz number with Mark Kanemura. Luckily, she was able to show the judges why she deserved to stay.

This year’s group seems to be extremely supportive of one another. The first two guys to be announced as safe, Alex Wong and Robert Roldan, hugged each other for what seemed like an eternity after their results were announced. The group hugs started after the first contestant was led to safety and snowballed during Alexie’s elimination: every single dancer enveloped her in a huge bear hug, and the tears came pouring out.

The dancers weren’t the only ones getting chummy – the judges also seemed to be having a blast! During the opening group dance sequence, Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman made silly and over-the-top movements together along with the music, while Nigel Lythgoe nonchalantly bopped his head. During one of the last commercial breaks, Nigel and Adam played tug-of-war with Mia’s arms as she jokingly screamed, “Leave me alone!”

Additionally, all-stars Twitch, Neil Haskell, Courtney Galiano, Lauren Gottlieb, Allison Holker and Kathryn McCormick were all in attendance to support the season 7 dancers. They even led standing ovations for Melinda Sullivan’s entertaining tap solo and Come Fly Away stars Karine Plantaditand Keith Roberts’ guest performance.

The judges on So You Think You Can Dance praised the boring dances and ripped on my faves — what’s going on?

For the first time ever, Fox’s hit dance show was taped live June 16 — and I had the pleasure of experiencing it in person. Unfortunately, Adam Shankman, Nigel Lythgoe and Mia Michaels‘ criticism was WAY off if you ask me!

I couldn’t believe all three judges thought 23-year-old ballet-dancing wonder Alex Wong and All-Star Allison Holker‘s performance was the best in So You Think You Can Dance history.

“I believe that you have just set a new standard for [the show],” Nigel said.

Mia also gushed about Alex, saying, “I have to say that that is the best, hands-down … piece of work danced on [this] stage anywhere, in the world, up to date.”

Exaggerate much? Alex and Allison’s dance last night did NOT rival 2007′s ‘Bench Dance’ or even tWitch’s ‘Door Dance’ during season five. Sure — Alex’s perfect technique is unprecedented on the show, but I wasn’t nearly as entertained by his dance as I was by other numbers, such as Robert Roldan and Courtney Galiano‘s African-Jazz performance.
