Your PHONE is the biggest culprit in your struggle with acne! Here’s how to solve the problem!

It’s Monday morning, which means it’s time for the Monday Makeup Minute! This week’s question came from someone in the office who struggles with acne along her jawline and chin constantly. I gave her a quick and easy solution that I’m also sharing with you in the video above. Check it out!

Basically, every time you use a device that you press to your face (cell phone, work phone, etc.), you leave behind dead skin and oils. Constantly pressing your face against these devices regularly can leave you with dreaded zits along the side of your face and chin (seriously, check out the line where your acne lives around your jawline and your chin if you don’t believe me.)

The solution? Clean your stationary office phone AND cell phones with rubbing alcohol and a clean cotton pad regularly! Not only will that get rid of the dead matter causing the acne, it will also get rid of germs that can cause the spread of viruses and colds! Healthier body AND cleaner skin? Yes, please!

Another way to get amazing skin? Tried-and-tested favorite Noxema! I’ve been using this line since I was a kid and I love the relaunched formulations and products. A daily regimen with either of these gentle cleansers paired with their tried-and-tested Deep Cleansing Cream is a great solution for acne-prone skin. You rarely spot a celeb with less than flawless skin, even while pregnant, just take a look at Christina Applegate — but the truth is when you’re expecting, your skin goes through just as many changes as your waistline does! Can you say acne, darker pigmentation and dryness?

“I’m textbook right now. I’m like everything you read in the books, I’ve got it all,” mom-to-be Christina Applegate confesses. “Anyone who has been pregnant knows exactly what I’m talking about.” Yes, we do! But don’t fret, docs tell HollyBaby.com what to expect and how to keep your complexion looking perfect.

Did you know that the natural glow everyone compliments mamas-to-be on is due to the increased blood flow during pregnancy? But skincare issues can get in the way of this new-found gorgeous, dewy skin.  And no one wants that! “Acne tends to increase during the first trimester and can remain persistent throughout pregnancy,” says Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd, dermatologist and creator of Specific Beauty. “Another thing to look out for are brown spots called melasma on your forehead, cheeks and upper lip.”

Ward off that pigmentation using an SPF of 15 or higher that blocks UVA and UVB rays (like La Roche-Posay Anthelios 15 Sunscreen) or use a daily moisturizer with sunscreen, such as Cetaphil SPF 50 Facial Moisturizer UVA/UVB Defense. The good news is that your skin will go back to normal about six months after you have your baby. Don’t you sometimes envy the stars, the way they seemingly glide across the red carpet and make beauty look so easy? Well, what you don’t know is that a LOT of preparation goes into making those stars look all shiny and gorgeous. Here are some secrets weapons of the stars that help them look effortlessly beautiful:

We’re all crazy about Lea Michele and her gorgeous complexion but want to know a little secret? She fights blemishes just like all of us (we are all human after all) and the way she gets her perfect skin is the same way the Kardashian sisters stay pimple-free: their Perfect Skin system! They help break up and release the fats that cause cellulite.  Judging from the looks of her, I’d say the results are pretty major.

Lip injections can be costly (not to mention painful – yikes) and look unnatural. Here’s a little secret of stars like Michelle Tractenberg, Tyra Banks and Cindy Crawford: Huge Lips Skinny Hips lip gloss. It’s a lip plumping gloss that includes an ingredient to curb your appetite.
