Breaking news! Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Ace Young proposed on live TV to season three’s Diana DeGarmo and she said ‘Yes!’

This was the most romantic American Idol finale EVER! In a heart-stopping sweet gesture, Ace Young proposed to his girlfriend, Diana DeGarmo. Watch the video here!

Even though they never competed on the same season (Diana was the runner-up on season three and Ace was eliminated seventh on the fifth season), we can’t resist an amazing inter-Idol romance.

Hey, HollywoodLifers — we hope you had the opportunity to catch one of the most fun TV benefits we’ve seen in a long time! Hosted by David Hasselhoff, The CW’s one-hour special, “The Gulf is Back,” aired tonight, Aug. 27, and paid tribute to the people in the Gulf Coast who have been deeply affected by the oil spill and are trying to get their lives back in the face of adversity.

With musical performances by Lonestar; Ricky Skaggs, American Idol contestants and finalists Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice and Ace Young; appearances by Kyle and Chris Massey, Drake Bell, Sophia Bush, Austin Nichols, B. B. King, Shannon Elizabeth and Dean Cain, and featuring moving real-life stories from the people in the Gulf, the tribute was entertaining — yet at the same time, moving and inspirational for all ages. We loved seeing Sophia Bush and Austin Nichols on the same stage as Kyle Massey and Taylor Hicks…what a great group!
