“A” be praised! ABC Family President Michael Riley announced Oct. 4 that the network’s smash hit Pretty Little Liars will return for a fourth season in mid 2013, packed with 24 hour-long episodes.

Of course, there’s also plenty more of season three still to be enjoyed. The Halloween special, titled “This Is A Dark Ride,” airs Oct. 23 and additional episodes will begin airing in January.

Fans’ minds were blown to pretty little pieces this summer when Toby (Keegan Allen) was revealed to be a member of the malevolent ”A” Team, so I can only imagine what other shockers this show has in store for us!

Among the show’s leading ladies are: Kristin Lancione, who plans to open her own nanny agency very soon; Lucy Treadway, a “top nanny choice” for Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller (though I think she dodged a bullet there); Amanda Averill, a recent transplant to Los Angeles; Shayla Quinn, who’s described as a “stickler for manners”; Amber Valdez, an aspiring TV show host; and Maggie Thorne, who might be too much of a party girl to also be a successful nanny.

But because babysitting is an equal-opportunity career field, there are also plenty of mannies on duty! You’ve got Louisiana native Justin Sylvester, famous for his work as Kyle Richards‘ former “Ladysitter”; Scott Cartmill, an insanely good-looking Australian dude; and Shaun Sturz, who’s known far and wide as the Top Beverly Hills Manny.

I swear I’m going to talk to you about Melissa & Joey, but first I have to say I totally didn’t realize you played Kayla on Desperate Housewives!

[Laughs.] Were you a fan? Did you enjoy my character being evil?

Of course! Can you still feel that slap Felicity Huffman gave you?

Oh, totally. I still feel a bit of a burn on my right cheek.

First Kayla, and now Holly — I feel like you’re getting a lot of practice playing a manipulator.

I keep getting told that! I swear, I’m not an evil person. I’m a nice girl.

But is it fun to pretend to be evil?

Are you kidding? It’s the best! You get to pretend you’re doing all these terrible, evil things you could NEVER do in real life. Physically or mentally, I just couldn’t do it. Acting allows me to twist my mind around a little bit. Being the evil person is always the most fun.

Holly’s a little bit like Kayla in that sense, right?

Well, Holly’s a little different. She’d never be as evil as Kayla. She just wanted to cause harm an hell to everyone. And even though Holly is controlling and overbearing, she tries to better people. Her heart’s in the right place.

Would you say her overbearing personality is the biggest problem for her and Ryder?

I really don’t think it’s an issue. I think it actually works them. Ryder is soft, and he’s the kind of boy who needs a strong girl in his life to whip him into shape. It makes their relationship wonderful!

I understand Holly is keeping a big secret from him on the June 20 episode. Can you elaborate?

Well, I can’t say too much about her secret, but she does something that affects their relationship. She feels very guilty, and it’s a really funny episode, because you watch her dealing with all her guilt.

Wrapping up, I have to ask — are you rooting for Melissa and Joey to get together?

Personally, I love their chemistry together as friends who kind of pick on each other and joke around. That’s how they are off-camera, and it translates so perfectly on camera. I kind of how like it how they have it. The temptation is cool that there could be something there, but I hope they keep it like this.

Call me a sucker for a soapy twist ending, but I’m still reeling from last night’s season finale of The Lying Game. Just when I thought I’d figured out what was going to happen, along came Rebecca (Charisma Carpenter) and Sutton (Alexandra Chando) to remind me that nothing is ever as it seems in Phoenix. And for their standout performances, I bestow both ladies with an Andy Award, which is like an Emmy Award — only more prestigious.

But the season’s final hour was merely a sampling of a show I’ve grown to love, and one I definitely need more of in the future. Seriously, why hasn’t ABC Family given this show a second season yet?

Not only does The Lying Game hit every one of the network’s targets right on the bullseye — there’s fashion, mystery, murder, and of course, a cornucopia of handsomeness — but it also appeals to a slightly more mature crowd. I was just as invested in Ted (Andy Buckley) and Kristin’s (Helen Slater) crumbling marriage as I was with the twins’ constant battle over Ethan (Blair Redford). And don’t get me started on Adrian Pasdar‘s brilliant work as Alec Rybek. That man played the devil in a suit, and he played it well.

But The Lying Game really found its legs in the second half of the season, when Rebecca arrived in Phoenix on the winter premiere. Don’t get me wrong, I was invested in the mystery before Charisma graced us with her presence, but there’s no denying her character’s role as the glue of the show. Suddenly all of the characters were connected. They had someone to focus on, someone to question, and someone the viewers loved to speculate about.

And just as the show’s intense story line picked up steam, so too did the ratings. Consistent improvements — the show hit series highs in January and February — showed just how hopelessly fans of the show were being sucked into the mystery, and how more people were joining the game every week.

What began last summer as a guilty pleasure about two long-lost twins ended last night as an ensemble drama with a permanent home on my DVR.

The Aug. 15 series premiere of ABC Family’s The Lying Game introduced us to estranged twins Emma and Sutton, both played by the lovely Alexandra Chando. And just as you might expect from a show based on books written by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shephard, the premiere was a glossy roller coaster of secrets, lies, and intense head-turning. And when the dust settled at the end of the hour, we didn’t know what — or who — to believe.

Here’s what went down: After landing in hot water with her hellish foster family, Emma escaped to Scottsdale, where she met up with Sutton. But the reunion didn’t last long, as Sutton decided she was going to head to LA in search of their birth parents. In what was supposed to be a temporary solution to Sutton’s absence, Emma agreed to take over her life — and more importantly, her drama.

As if juggling two lives wasn’t difficult enough, Emma quickly realized she also had two boys to juggle. And while that probably doesn’t like too harrowing a task for most teenage girls, Sutton’s love life appears to be needlessly complicated. First, there’s her “boyfriend” Luke (Mitch Ryan), who seemed like the perfect guy until Emma caught him making out with Sutton’s arch-nemesis — on and off the tennis court — Nisha Randall (Sharon Pierre-Louis.)

And then there’s Ethan Whitehorse (Blair Redford), the motorycle-riding, long hair-having bad-boy who claimed to be Sutton’s “real” boyfriend once he figured out she and Emma switched places.

Emma returned to Sutton’s house after a night out, only to discover someone had broken into her room and stolen her laptop (aka Emma’s only hope at actually fitting into Sutton’s existence.) We also got a quick shot of Sutton in Los Angeles, but things haven’t turned out too well for her either, as the episode ended with a sudden blackout — followed by a spine-tingling gasp.

The Lying Game has all the makings of a truly guilty pleasure — pretty girls, pretty boys, and tons of ugly secrets — and you can bet HollywoodLife.com will be heading back to Arizona week after week to see where things go. What did YOU think of the big premiere?

Melissa first made her way into our hearts as Clarissa on Clarissa Explains It All in 1990 — then we all fell in love with her again when she played Sabrina on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Since then, the witch put her acting career on hold and had two children, Mason and Brady. • Melissa has Baby Fever: “We’d like to have more. I’d like to have a really big family. I come from a really big family. I have such a fondness for my siblings. I want my kids to have that to. I’d like to have four.”
• She is not laidback, like her character on the show: “I’d like to think I’m more strict. On the show, I take all my natural instincts from real life and then do the exact opposite. She has no clue how to be a mom. Here she is trying to find her way. I think she’ll always make mistakes. I think she’s especially flawed. She’s a little selfish. I think that’s where the comedy is.”
• She Reads Dr. Seuss: “I’m trying to teach the older one how to read. We’ve run out of books. We’re always Dr. Seuss fans. The Llama Llama books.”
• Melissa flirts with Joey…but will they become more on the show? “There are a few kisses — they realize it’s not right. They will definitely flirt with it. But then they realize it’s not meant to be. I think you’ll see Mel and Joe flirt with it.”

Demi Lovato, along with stars from ABC Family, has teamed up with Seventeen to “delete digital drama” and put an end to bullies on and off the internet. Demi is one of many stars who have faced bullies and she wants to put a stop to it! “The effects … are still with me to this day,” she admits.

As a contributing editor for Seventeen, Demi opened up about her struggle with being a victim of bullying in the past. “I was bullied when I was younger, it got so bad that I ended up leaving school because of it and the effects of that traumatizing time are still with me to this day,” she revealed in her article. Demi is a pretty tough cookie and we are glad she has been able to overcome bullies, one step at a time.

Stars such as Shailene Woodley (Amy Juergens from The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Tyler Blackburn(Caleb Rivers from Pretty Little Liars) have joined their fellow ABC Family costars to promote the fight against bullying with their “delete digital drama” campaign.

Shailene said, “All it takes is to speak up, to say something. All it takes is to find that strength within yourself, to be the one to say something, to tell someone about it, to tell a teacher, tell a parent, to tell another peer—somebody—what’s going on.”

With young stars reaching out to their fans and the new film, Cyberbullying that just premiered on ABC Family, kids can see that their idols were bullied and overcame it so they can too! What powerful role models, we love them all!

Tyler said, “I think that the social media aspect of bullying is different because it spreads like wildfire immediately. So in that way, I think it’s almost more intense. But it’s just as hurtful as bullying someone face-to-face.”

Cyberbullying is a huge problem in the digital age and it is about time that someone did something about it. Go Seventeen and ABC Family!

“I think that some people use bullying as a way to fit in, and I’ve noticed it’s not just the “cool” kids doing it anymore. Sitting behind a computer gives people a sense of anonymity, but everyone needs to realize that words—even the ones they write online—have a strong power to hurt people” said Demi.

Wow, so true, words can totally hurt and even though we poke fun at bullies in films such as Mean Girls, bullying is a really serious issue. We are so proud of Demi for speaking up and her efforts for this cause are not lost on us. She is a rock star and we love that she cares about others!

Alison’s shady brother Jason returned to Rosewood on the June 21 episode of Pretty Little Liars, and he brought along more than just a hidden agenda — he also brought a new face! Newcomer Drew Van Acker has now taken over the role originated by Parker Bagley in season one, and we want to know which one YOU like better.

The change was the topic of much debate during the episode — the hashtag #NewJason was thrown around quite a bit — and even Sara Shepard, the writer of the original Pretty Little Liars book series, chimed in with her thoughts:

“Ooh, I like new Jason!” she tweeted during the show. “More like how i imagined him…”
