Steven Adams (born Steven Funaki Adams in Rotorua, New Zealand on July 20, 1993) is a New Zealand-born basketball star for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He’s a center who played college basketball in Pittsburgh and was labelled a top international prospect for the NBA. In the 2013 NBA draft Steven was selected 12th overall pick. His mother is of Tongan descent, while is father Sid Adams was a British expat who settled in New Zealand after serving in the Royal Navy. Steven is the youngest of 18 children his father fathered with 5 different women.

Steven Adams is best known for coming of age in the 2016 NBA playoffs, where his aggressive play saw him see-off opposition such as Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs.
