Yay! Ultra Skinny Models Dumped Again & Replaced By Curvy Elle Macpherson, Bar Refaeli & More!

Top fashion designers continue to kick the unhealthy toothpick model trend to the curb in Paris – most recently at the mega-big Louis Vuitton show on Mar. 10th.

And this time, it was a victory, not just for curvier models but also for beauties of all ages. Parading down the runway in full-on gorgeous form were Elle Macpherson, 47,Sports Ilustrated  favorite, Bar Rafaeli, French actress/model Laetitia Casta,31, as well as voluptuous Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima and Rosie Huntington-Whitely, shapely Dutch model Lara Stone, new mom model, Karolina Kurkova (her baby boy is 4 months old) and outspoken model Coco Rocha, who recently told the New York Times that she was shunned by many New York designers at the recent Fashion Week because she was all of a shudder… size 4!

Fascinatingly, Louis Vuitton’s designer-in-chief, Marc Jacobs populated his Feb. 15th  signature show in New York with a bevy of pin thin models. Just  four weeks later, the prominent and trendsetting designer has made a bold statement that will be heard all around the fashion world  with this show –bone thin models be gone, curvy girls come back!

Thank God they (fashion designers) are taking a responsible, healthy and more feminine approach to fashion. I appaude the designers and bless them all!

I have loved Louis Vuitton for several years. I’m glad Marc Jacobs spoke volumes with bringing the the real super models. Frankly, I was tired of the bone-skinny models. They really weren’t appealing.

To call these incredibly skinny models like Rosie Huntington-Whitely or Alessandra Ambrosio “voluptuous” or “curvy” is just a joke! They don’t really have more meat on their bones than all the pin thin runway models…

It’s completely laughable isn’t it? I had to google pics of Adriana Lima to see if she’d gotten some meat over her bones to now be considered “voluptuous”. I suppose a size 4 model is better than a size 2 one, but in reality, this was just a very tiny improvement. Hope the sizes continue to increase :S
