Check out my picks and read my tips if you’re looking for something comfortable enough to pig out in — without offending anyone at the dinner table!
Picking out the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving can be tricky — you obviously want to look nice, especially because you’re going to be around relatives and friends you haven’t seen in a while, but chances are you always can’t wait to dig in. While comfy sweats would be ideal, I suggest taking a cue from the stylish celebs above. Stick to a dark color palette — not only will you appear thinner, but warm hues like olive green, maroon, purple, and brown are perfect for the holiday.
I suggest wearing something you’re most comfortable in — I think a nice pair of pants (like the ones below) are perfect, but feel free to substitute them for a pair of jeans or leggings. You can dress them up with a pair of pumps or boots and a loose top or tunic — not only will you look chic, but you won’t be stressing over your waistline when you reach for dessert.
If you’re going to a more formal dinner or feel more comfortable in a skirt or dress, I recommend sticking to a solid color. Choose the type of silhouette that looks best on your body type. The frock I chose has interesting detail at the neckline, taking attention away from your stomach area. The dress is loose, but not too baggy where it would make you appear bigger than you actually are. I really like pairing thick tights, like Blake Lively‘s, and a structured jacket with your frock of choice.
