Michael, you may be in the battle of your life but you told the world at your premiere last night that you felt like a winner!
And guess what? Your hundreds of fans who lined the streets of NYC to watch you, your wife Catherine Zeta Jones, and your costars, Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan, Josh Brolin and Susan Sarandon would totally agree! Just by looking at Michael Douglas, you’d never know he was battling stage four throat cancer. HollywoodLife.com attended the NYC premiere of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps Sept. 20, at the Ziegfeld Theater, and we were thrilled to see Michael looking healthy and in good spirits.
The 65-year-old, who won an Oscar for his performance in the original 1987 film Wall Street, walked the red carpet arm-in-arm with his wife of ten years Catherine Zeta Jones. Several actors and old friends stopped the Hollywood icon as he made his way past a sea of reporters. At one point someone yelled out asking him how he felt, and Michael responded by saying: “I feel like the Jets!” (referring to the New York Jets beating the New England Patriots, the night before).
HollywoodLife.com got a chance to speak to the film’s long-time director, Oliver Stone, who expressed his support for the actor: “My thoughts are with Michael at this time.”
Michael’s protege and co-star in the film, Shia LaBeouf reiterated that statement by telling reporters, “Michael has a strong support system around him … he’ll be fine.”
Don’t forget to check out Wall Street 2 when it hits theaters, Sept. 24!
