In practically every campaign and magazine we’re met with perfect faces of photoshopped celebs and models — but a few decades ago that wasn’t the case! Take a look at what lingerie models used to look like.
Some may think lingerie catalogues are really racy these days, but if you ask me I think they were even sexier back in the day. Images from the 1979 Victoria’s Secret catalogue recently surfaced, and the images look more like a sexy sleepover in a dream sequence than an actual ad! The models, in close proximity of each other, pose awkwardly perched in various poses in what appears to be a home — in fact, the shoot even includes household props, like a dog and a phone. The most startling difference though, is definitely how real the model’s bodies look without alterations or photoshop. From the slightly sagging boobs to uneven skin tones, dare I say that there’s something refreshing about seeing the ‘flaws’? Since we’re living in a culture that is so accustomed to airbrushing, the idea may seem foreign, but what do you think?
