Andy's 'Vampire Diaries' Recap: Stefan & Elena Get Freaky In The Woods & Someone Leaves Town!

Is it any wonder #TVDStelena was actually trending on Twitter during the Feb. 10 episode?

The Feb. 10 episode of The Vampire Diaries was like one big valentine to fans of Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) admittedly epic relationship. It was hard to watch all the cuddling, kissing and naughty such naughty behavior on the kitchen counter — but I powered through, taking solace in Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) hilarious faux-mance with “action news” reporter Andie Star (Dawn Olivieri.) And the cherry on top was seeing Bonnie (Katerina Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) finally…

…make out! Yes, I waited till after the jump for those of you who live in fear of spoilers. I’m so pleased that these two crazy kids have finally stopped beating around the bush. When it’s right, it’s right.

But back to “Stelena,” I’m willing to let them have their day in the sun — even their mini-fight at the end of the episode was somehow romantic — because it sounds like it’s nothing but dark skies ahead for everyone’s favorite doppelgänger. Bonnie “witch roofied” Luka (Bryton James) to find out everything he knows about Klaus and the Curse of the Sun and the Moon. What she learned was that Elijah wants Klaus dead, and the reason Luka and his dad are helping him is because Klaus has Luka’s sister. Unfortunately, the only way to kill Klaus is to get him when he’s most vulnerable… after the sacrifice of the doppelgänger. Ruh-roh!

And while that was quite a shocker, it was ultimately Tyler (Michael Trevino) who delivered one of the biggest surprises of the night. Before leaving Mystical Falls, possibly for good, he paid a visit to the saddest busboy in Mystic Falls, Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig.) He set the record straight-ish, explaining to Matt that he’s the one Caroline (Candice Accola) really wants, without slipping and mentioning anything about vampires or werewolves. So much happened this week, I can’t even handle it. But I’m taking away three things from the episode:

1. I really, honestly, am starting to wonder if Elena is going to die. (Remember how Buffy cheated death? This could lead to an epic Vampire Diaries musical episode!)

2. I’m really sad to see Tyler going just when I was really starting to like him.

That is all.
