Thomas is about to realize just how much attention his sex appeal will get him — will he be the new Zac Efron?

Hollywoodlife.com spoke exclusively with actor Thomas McDonell about his role in Disney’s Prom, in which he co-stars with Aimee Teegarden of Friday Night Lights. The actor is full of charm and boasts Johnny Depp-like good looks that will definitely get him noticed by the girls!

Prom hit theaters on April 29 so we asked Thomas whether he went to his own prom before. He said, “Yes I went to my high school prom while I was at boarding school in Massachusetts . [The movie] was similar to my high school prom, in that it was a party where everyone was celebrating their school years together.”

Thomas explained that his character in the film has an “I’m so over high school” attitude as a result of a difficult childhood. “He wants to graduate from school pretty badly because he wants to get out and had been working to support his family. He lived with his mother & younger brother. His life is more adult than the people that live around him.”

His next project is with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp in the film Dark Shadows, in which he will play the younger version of Johnny’s vampire character. He couldn’t be a more perfect fit!

Another thing you should know about Thomas is that he’s not a one trick pony —  he’s a talented musician as well.  We asked him about his song featured in Prom, and he revealed, “Disney found out that I had been making music & listened to the EP I had made. They liked it, but it wasn’t the just right fit for the movie. My band and I got together with my band that would work for us & also fit into their music. So it’s between pop music & electric guitar music.”

Thomas is well on his way to being the next Hollywood heartbreaker. His effortlessly cool presence will land him plenty of roles to come, so keep an eye on him!
