While baby Leah is still officially a ward of the state, Hollybaby.com has exclusively learned that Amber Portwood has been awarded custody of Leah 75 percent of the time!
A source close to the family says that the Madison County Circuit Court in Anderson, Indiana, has finally given primary custody of little Leah back to Amber Portwood! Maybe it was the tattoo?
This is a life-changing turn of events for Teen Mom Amber, since baby Leah had been living with her father (Amber’s ex-fiance Gary Shirley) for several weeks. Now, Amber has baby Leah living with her almost every day. The only day she won’t have Amber is Sunday, when she is with Gary’s mother, Carol Shirley, who will spend the day with her granddaughter and take her to church.
But Amber isn’t out of the woods yet. The department of Children’s Services in Indiana (which made Leah a ward of the state) still has her under investigation. Nor is her felony investigation with the Anderson police department prosecutors office finished. (She was charged with two counts domestic violence after a fight with Gary).
Amber still has to attend mandated anger management classes and parenting classes because of the DCS decision; the classes are part of the deal for Amber to keep custody of Leah.
Our source also tells us it looks like it is officially over between Gary and Amber, and that the couple has no plans to reconcile.
