Amber & Gary are working through their problems. They are back together and taking things slow, but in the long run, they want to get married!
Teen Mom star Amber Portwood and baby daddy Gary Shirley are back together — and even talking about getting married! On Feb. 9, Anderson, Ind., judge David Happe modified the no contact order placed against Amber (after she attacked Gary on national television) and gave the parents permission to hang out as long as their baby daughter Leah is not present during the visits. Now, HollywoodLife.com has the exclusive story of how Amber and Gary reunited!
Shortly after Amber was arrested in November, Gary started casually dating Ashley Williamson. But all along, Gary has told Ashley he wanted to try and work things out with Amber once the no contact order was lifted. If that happened, he’d no longer be able to see Ashley.
Amber’s friends have also been pushing Amber for months now to get back with Gary. They thought Gary would provide the stability missing in Amber’s life and that would help her to calm her crazy ways.
Throughout this whole experience, Gary has shown concern for Amber’s well-being. He has contacted her friends and family to make sure Amber is on the right track. He was even the first to approach the court to have the no contact order lifted.
And before entering court Feb. 9 , Gary informed Ashley that if he didn’t call her afterward, it was because he was spending the day with Amber, Ashley told us exclusively.
Amber and Gary left the court hand-in-hand that day. According to Us Weekly, Gary even told the judge that the end goal was “to go for marriage, [but that right now,] we’ve talked about taking things real slow. We have our own places. We’ll continue to keep our own places.”
When asked if she was happy about the order being modified so that Gary and Amber could see each other, Ashley said, “I’m glad for Gary — I know that’s what he wanted.”
Since the court date, Gary and Amber have been spending time together working on getting their relationship back on track.
“They’re talking,” Amber’s friend and former cell mate Carol Ancil tells us. There’s just one small hurdle in the way of the family being all back together … “they’re not allowed to be around Leah at the same time,” says Carol.
