Taylor Swift temporarily stepped out of the spotlight to write a new album, leaving many to wonder if she was going to come back with something to rival her 2009 success. Now, Taylor is opening up about her record Speak Now…, where she gets her inspiration and her love life!
It’s hard not to love Taylor Swift! The 20-year-old country sweetheart has not only captured the hearts of almost everyone who hears her songs, but she’s shown that she’s just a down-to-earth girl who loves her friends, family and baking cookies in her kitchen! She’s growing up and can’t wait to share the next chapter of her life.
It’s no secret Taylor is obsessed with the idea of love, and uses her music as an outlet to get over heartache and share how she feels about those four little letters.
“I’ve learned that you can’t predict it or plan for it,” she told Glamour magazine. “For someone like me who is obsessed with organization and planning, I love the idea that love is the one exception to that. Love is the one wild card.”
As far as her current relationship status, Taylor is still single. Although she wasn’t able to remain friends with ex, Joe Jonas, Taylor has nothing but wonderful things to say about former boyfriend and Twilight heartthrob, Taylor Lautner.
“He’s one of my best friends. He’s wonderful, and we’ll always be close,” she said. “I’m so thankful for that.”
From what Taylor says, it sounds like Speak Now… is going to follow in the footsteps of Fearless.
“My next album is something I’m really proud of,” she said. “I can only write about what I’ve been through. And a lot has happened in the past two years. Everything that happens to me gets put into a song. For some reason, I’m really comfortable talking about my personal life in songs. There, I don’t hold back: names, dates, times, expressions on people’s faces, exactly where we were and how it felt, what I wish I would have said to them in the moment.”
For now, Taylor is enjoying the little downtime she has goofing off with her friends and just being, well, herself! “I like it when my friends come over and we crowd around the piano and sing Journey songs at the top of our lungs…and I like things that make me feel seven again,” she said.
Speak Now… drops Oct. 25. Are YOU as excited as we are to hear Taylor’s new album?
