With all the stars finally in town, the parties were finally in full swing! Who needs sleep when the festivities go until 4 a.m.?
It was the final day of Sundance’s opening weekend and the celebs were out in full force. Today it seemed like the festivities got started a little later in the morning or afternoon, because the stars were recovering from the night(s) before (myself included!). After a couple cups of much needed Joe, I hit the streets to see the houses and suites to which I hadn’t been yet.
12:00 p.m. My first stop was to the Variety Studio’s suite, where stars like the adorable Zooey Deschanel stopped by for interviews, gifts from Woolrich John Rich & Bros. and to take fun pics in the Altoids Curiously Strong Photo Kiosk. The suite was a welcome warm escape from the wind outside! It was so cold!
1:30 p.m. Speaking of cold, my next stop was to the bottom of the Park City Mountain Resort, where Burton Snowboards hosted the Burton Demo Tent — another fun place for celebs to learn to ride from snowboard pros! Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley was there looking adorable (and pretty darn talented) during his two hour lesson with Burton pro Danny Davis.
3:00 p.m. I knew my night was going to be a blast (the party lineup was insane!), so I headed over to the TMG/IT Luxury Lounge and Spa up in the exclusive hills of Deer Valley for some much needed beauty upkeep. The suite was set up in a gorgeous three story mansion and they gave me the star treatment, which included a driver, a China Glaze manicure and makeup by a Colorscience pro! I was in heaven! Plus, on the ride up there, I met an actress with a film at the festival, as well as James Kyson-Lee from Heroes, who was getting a manicure. Let me tell you, these celebs live the life!
10:00 p.m. That night, the party docket was packed to the brim. It seemed like every bar and club on Main St. was throwing some sort of fete — and I was determined to see it all! First on the list was the SPiN Galactic Lounge at Bing Bar with Cee-Lo Green, which was one of the more popular places of the night. (I heard people joking that security at Bing was like trying to get out of jail!) Inside the full party, Cee-Lo gave a little performance of his hits, like “F*** You” — which was awesome to see in such an intimate setting!
12:15 a.m. After hearing Cee-Lo for a bit, I escaped Bing and headed up the street to Ciseros for the Glee Celebrity Karaoke Event. Rosie O’Donnell and Chelsea Handler made an appearance at the party, which was celebrating the DVD release of Glee Season 2: Volume 1. (Sadly, no stars from Glee actually made it to the event…but it was still fun to see how everyone there was “gleeking” out!)
12:45 a.m. All the other parties were fun, but my personal favorite of the evening was definitely seeing one of my favorite DJs, Diplo, at Harry O’s. Sponsored by Skullcandy and Express, Diplo spun a sick two hour set filled with lots of great dub step, which is the heavy bass electronic music that I love the most. My friends and I made our way to the front and center and danced until the bar was closing — it was the best!
2:30 a.m. Feeling energized and endorphin-filled after dancing for so long at Harry O’s, a small group of us headed to TAO at The Samsung Galaxy Tab Lift, which was the “club scene” of Sundance that stayed open until past 4 a.m.! While in the VIP section near the front of the club, I even got to go hang out at the DJ booth, where Diplo made a surprise appearance! I told him he had made my night and we took a pic together (see above). Honestly, I think that was my favorite night at Sundance so far. Cee-Lo and Diplo in one night? It doesn’t get much better than that!
