BONNIE SAYS: ‘Sister Wives’ Polygamist Husband Kody Brown — Country’s Biggest Con Man & Bad Dad!

Posted Mon, September 27, 2010 10:45am EDT

Kody Brown, ‘husband’ of four dopey women and father of 13, and the star of TLC’s new ‘Sister Wives’ show, is such a cute, friendly huggy-bear of a man, you can absolutely see how he could convince self-esteem-less women to feel lucky to join his harem.

Kody, 42, looks and sounds like a totally “awesome” surfer dude, who uses the word “awesome” a lot, and he dispenses hugs so freely that I would get a hug if I were in his vicinity… even after writing this.

But no matter what his four wives — three blondes and one brunette — say, they are getting “screwed,” both literally and figuratively. Kody gets to make the bed-rounds between his concubines (they have a schedule) so he can spread his body and sperm around. But come on — conventional one-to-one husbands and wives, with kids, get barely enough time to talk, get intimate and bond.

How much real bonding can you get with a husband whose time you share with three other women? And what if your one-quarter man is “tired” on “your “night? And how can one man — even as seemingly warm as Kody Brown — truly love four different women equally? How can there be absolutely no jealousy, rivalry and drama among these women? It’s just not possible – honestly, it goes against human nature. Or should I say, female nature. Any woman out there want to disagree?

The only way that his four wives – Meri, 39, Janelle, 40, Christine, 37, and Robyn, 31 — can possibly stand it, though they don’t admit it on the show and no doubt don’t even admit it to themselves, is that they don’t think they’re “worthy” of having a loving, devoted husband all to themselves.

Inside, they must feel like total zeros. That’s why they’re grateful to have, at best, a 25-percent-partner.

As for Kody, the advertising executive claims that it’s his “version” of the Mormon faith that led him to polygamy. That’s hogwash.

Kody, you’re just a horndog using religion to sleep with four different willing female bodies. No wonder you look like a “pig in s**t” — you are one! You’re thrilled that youconned four women into bedding you, cooking and cleaning for you — and bearing your children.

Your “faith” is hands-down disrespectful to women, since they are the multiples. If women could head a polygamist family and take multiple husbands, at least that wouldn’t be discriminatory.

And as for your children: You’re telling your daughters they should be handmaidens to a man like you, not deserving of a loving one-on-one relationship of equality with a man. And to your sons, you’re saying this: Either you can be the big man of your own house with multiple subservient women, or creepier yet, you are competition to me. What I mean is that a polygamist like Kody feels entitled to keep preying on, ahem, taking on new wives — most probably younger and younger ones, like fourth wife, Robyn.

At some point, he’ll be competing with his own sons for women. In many polygamist families, sons are tossed out once they become sexual competition to their fathers.

So Kody, you may look cuddly but what you’re spouting is a crock!

What do you think, ladies?

Sick. Sick. Sick! I see the commercials and have to change the channel. I love seeing Say Yes To The Dress and Four Brides, but I cannot deal with the commercials. Why TLC? I feel bad for these women who as Bonnie said, have zero self esteem so they are willing to have 25% time. And how do they treat the new one who is not related to them? Don;t tell me they aren’t threatened. Now if it were a dog, he would be neutered. Wasn’t TLC shot up by that guy lately that the police killed? Better watch out for those fanatics who are on the very far right – you are just asking for more trouble.

These are 5 consenting adults. The 4 women aren’t sex slaves who are held against their will. They chose this lifestyle. The children appear happy, fed, and well looked after. The family is self sufficient financially and law abiding. Legally Kody is married to only 1 of the women. This lifestyle does not fit into the mainstream mindset, however casting judgement on 5 consenting adults, because it is different, doesn’t make it wrong. Get a grip America.

Bonnie doesn’t have a clue. Male narcisists don’t get married, ever. Every man who has laid himself on the alter of marriage as a human sacrifice desrves credit. Kody Brown deserves a medal.

I watched last nights episode of Sister Wives and in my opinion the “husband” in this show is creepy. He is using these now 4 woman for his own selfish purposes. Polygimiy is not only against the law in all 50 states, including Nevada, but it is a totally out dated principal. This was practiced when the Mormon church was trying to get more and more members. At the time it made since to allow one man to take many wives for the purpose of adding fellowship to the church by having many, many children but it also gave these women protection of a husband. Back when the mormon church was first established an unmarried woman was looked down upon and was considered a burden to the community.
Kody the “husband” goes around with a constant grin on his face and why not he is living the ultimate male dream he has four different women who cook, clean, work, and are in his bed. He has a different woman every week who worships him. What player wouldn’t want the same. And that is exactly what Kody is a player who has duped these four women into thinking that this is normal. I feel badly for these woman because they don’t know any better due to their backgrounds most are from poligmist parents and these women are going to push the same on thier children. It is the girls that suffer but because they have no sence of self esteem or knowledge of what a real marriage is they don’t know better.
Kody knows it isn’t healthy for his children to be raised this way, not that he cares, as he is heard yelling at one of his children not to be discussing their living situation with friends because it is not anyone elses business, and he has said that he is afraid of any employer getting wind of his living arraingment that they would fire him (Episode 1).

I think polygamy is a good alternative to broken marriages/families. So many women today refuse to give their husband sex, a man NEEDS sex, and are surprised when they are out screwing another woman. In these relationships everyone is up front. There is no disease or earth shattering deception.

Also, it is easier for four people to run a household and family with four responsible adults instead of two. Wouldn’t you like a night off from the kids without paying a stranger to watch them or need help with housework or errands? Ever found yourself running behind and can’t pick up the kids or get dinner on the table on time? Call a sister/wife and the stressful problem is solved.

I think some women respond so negatively to the possiblities because of their lack of confidence or jealousy. These people are all part of the same family that work together, not competition to destroy the family.

Think about it!

Queen Becky; Kody the “husband” in this show has 4 play mates for his bed one each week, how would he feel if one of the wives took a new husband because she is lonely? Something tells me that wouldn’t fly with this player. He is using these woman and if you paid attention each woman lives in her own apartment, each cooks and cleans for herself and her children, and there was even an argument over who was going to be around for him to care for his needs while the other worked. And the first wife admitted to having feelings of jealousy, as did the second and third wives.
Would want your daughter to be used this way? Would you want her to go to work to have her earnings taken to support 1,2,3 or more other woman and their children? Would you want her to go to bed at night with her husband tonight and tomorrow he is crawling into bed with the next wife and she is alone in her room listening to her husband make love to another? It is degrading. Lets face it no walls are sound proof. This show is romantizing a very difficult, abusive way of life that these women are living.

Well, I didn’t mind the show.
Their family is a heck of a lot more functional than my family is. Lol

While polygamy isn’t a life style that I would live, I don’t see a problem with other people living that way if it is what makes them happy. To each their own.

I noticed that a lot of you made harsh judgments on this subject, and about Kody and his wives.
Did it ever occur to any of you that maybe these women really are happy, and that maybe, just maybe Kody really does love all four of his wives?
Yes I realize that, that may not be the case, but I also realize that it could be.
See that is the thing, you don’t know and I don’t know, and unless we are able to get in their heads or somehow hear their thoughts, we will never know. So who are we to judge?

Their lifestyle really doesn’t affect me in any way, so I don’t care. If that is how they want to live, than they should be allowed to.

One more thing…
Bonnie, did you even watch the show? Based off of what you wrote, it seems very unlikely that you watched the show. I’m not saying that you didn’t watch the show, but that is how your article reads.

Look I think it is very sad that people are not open minded to the fact that these poeple are living the way they want and that they are not bothering any one. These women love each other like sistere and bestfreind these kids know nothing else but this. This is there life. The man is not the one that put his women up for this they did. Y can’t people just leave then alone and let them live there lives. If u think about it y is it ok for The dugger to have a billion kids and know one say any thing about them and there is only one mom and dad and alot of kids. Why is it ok for a man to have lots of baby momma’s and thats not looked on as bad why is it ok in vegas for a man to pimp women out for his money. All they want to do is show people there life style and how much they love each other and care for each other they r letting the world see how they live and people r just being mean. I am happy a show like this came out I hope that everything gose well and good luck.

mixedbeauty- you are exactly right!!! can’t say that enough!!!!

wow Bonnie! What an assumptive, contrived thing to write re: “The only way that his four wives – Meri, 39, Janelle, 40, Christine, 37, and Robyn, 31 — can possibly stand it, though they don’t admit it on the show and no doubt don’t even admit it to themselves, blah blah blah”

Not for one minute do I believe these women are victims or stupid. Quite simply, they made a personal (and religious) choice for themselves. Just as you did when you chose to have babies or get married.

I too live in a conventional marriage w/ kids and if I didn’t “schedule” some time for us to be together everyone would just do their own thing under the same roof.

Mostly tho, I feel sad for you that such enmity rules your writing but I guess it would mean it goes beyond that and that enmity would rule your life and your attitudes right along w/ your marriage and kids too! Wow- that’s a powerful thought. Are you this negative and mean at home? I would think not but it’s something to think about… You should use your powers for the good Bonnie- you’re worthy. And don’t forget- niceness counts.

Let Them Do What They Want

Posted at 6:01 PM on September 28, 2010

I think if you are raised this way, its not low self esteem, its a way of life. Hugh Heffner has three women who live with him, and everyione is okay with that. If this makes them all happy, for whatever reasons they have, then good for them. You are not in their heads. You can’t say what they are thinking. Non of them look subserviant. They all made decisions. They were all grown when they made them. People do this all the time, not everyone is Warren Jeffs or his tv counter part Roman whatever his name is, on HBO. There are thousands of people who partake in this lifestyle, that are not even Morman. It makes them happy. Does it go against the norm, yes… The man had three wives for 15 years. And is now adding the 4th. So its not like he is out searching for new wives every year. And they are all grown adult women. I say if it makes you happy, and works for you, and doent hurt those around you.. who cares? And this is all the kids have known, so it hasn’t been sone culture shock. If they are happy – then let them be happy.

Sorry you are wrong on Hugh Hefner. The three woman you are texting about live in the mansion next door hence the name of the show the “Girls next door”. Hef lives in the main mansion and he “the Pinnical Player” again the name the playboy club; where the term “Player” comes from uses whatever three women he has there as eye candy. Lets face is I don’t think Hef can get it up anymore he can barley get out of a chair.

You are right, Bonnie. The women aren’t overweight because they’re happy. (I speak as an overweight woman.) They are stuffing anger and seeking love and comfort from food. This is not a criticism of them but a sad observation.

Meri’s response is basically the same as most first wives. I hope she gets the self esteem and strength to take her daughter and make a life for the two of them. She will be surprised and pleased to find how strong and capable she really is and that she doesn’t have to subvert her own needs and desires to a man who doesn’t care enough to reciprocate in equal measure.

I could respect them for coming forward with their illegal lifestyle if they were actually trying to advocate for the right to practice their religion freely — but it actually seems to be about the money since practically no mention of religion seems to have been made.

Oh, and Samantha, D&C 132 is still valid doctrine in the Mormon Church. Men are still sealed to more than one wife in their lifetimes, although women aren’t. And polygamy was practiced by the Mormon Church for well over 80 years. All the Brown’s are doing is following the teachings of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young — except that Kody has wisely kept his attentions away from teen age brides. Kudos to him for that.

I am LDS ( mormon), and our faith does not believe or practice poligamy. It did 150 years ago, for a short time period in history ( a few years), but bizarre people who think they want to practice pologamy because it’s part of the LDS faith, are as you said just using it as an excuse. Our faith has no version’s of poligamy. And our faith is also NOT disrepectful to women. Even growing up in this, they are in the United States, and our religion believes that we must follow the rules of the law whatever country we may live.

to Samantha: The Mormon religion does not practice
polygamy only because it is against federal law. It is,
however, STILL in Doctrines and Covenants 132…you
should read it. Practices in Mormonism change in order
for them to be “socially and politically correct” for
their PR. Remember the wishy-washy comments of Mitt
Romney?…and even the former head of the organization,
Mr. Hinckley? And mormon women are duped if they
really believe that their position is not subjugated.

He didn’t legally marry 3 of the 4… So is it illegal? I’m not saying it’s my choice. It kinda makes my blood curdle to even think of sharing my guy… But they all came from that background. I suppose it’s like a Buddhist telling a christian that they are sick for believing in what they believe in… and we know that would never happen. I don’t agree with their lifestyle choice but I am open to seeing both sides of the metal.

You can’t believe those women are happy. Faced with a fourth wife, the look on the first wife’s face was so sad. And she said jealousy was her shortcoming, she just needed to have more faith. That’s a croc. If he loved her, he would not make her feel so bad. She would have been enough for him.

And it is illegal. Maybe now that he has given proof on TV, he will get arrested. Not sure what the penalty is, but it’s a third degree felony in Utah to cohabitate with the intention of creating a marriage like relationship.

Also watched an extended interview of them done after the first show. The new wife Robyn admitted that her arrival had caused a bit of an “upheaval.” They were all quick to say they are working on it and just love having her in the family. The only one not talking was Cody. I did watch the first show and wish I didn’t. Makes me wonder about TLC’s intelligence and putting it on Sunday makes it even worse.

how is the author writing favourably about them? surely s/he is condemning it? hmm

but on a different note, i dont see what the big deal is with a show like this. there are a lot of illegal things going on in the usa.. actually everywhere. just imagine if nobody ever filmed them? we wouldnt know anything about anything. im all for the educational aspect of such a show.

and if you must argue about the “legal” aspect of this show.. just look at all the shows that favour teenage drinking/smoking/taking drugs/prostitution etc. why not start there if you must? following this logic there shouldnt be any shows/documentaries on american television ;)

now personally, i wouldnt do what they do. it takes a really broken person to be willing to live like that. – BUT in other parts of the world this type of “marriage” is culturally normal so who am i to judge..

There is no way I would accept a ‘marriage’ like this. However, there may come a time in the US (not in the near future) when there won’t be enough men to go around and multiple wives will be accepted. China was so busy telling married couples they could have only one child (and it better be a boy!) that there are 5 million more men than women. Probably higher. It just might happen here.

i’m a fairly spirited, independent, feminist kind of gal, but i can’t get on the hater train… meri stated that she always wanted a marriage with sister wives (didn’t she say she was raised in that lifestyle?) and no one has put a gun to the other wives’ heads – in fact since the other three are not legally married, they can walk away anytime, so why assume that they’re stupid or have low self-esteem? with four women sharing the domestic responsibilities, kody and the wife-of-the-day can certainly manage to spend quality time together on a regular basis… how many one-marriage, two-career couples manage to do that today? several years ago i saw another polygamous family in which one wife was a high-powered attorney, and the other was the stay at home mom… each was thrilled that having a sister wife allowed them to have it all… personally, the one time i caught a boyfriend with another woman, he wound up with a few interesting marks in the shape of the objects i pelted him with, and she was missing a hank of hair from being pulled out of her hiding place on the closet floor, but if it works for them, WTH…

The Mormon church hasn’t allowed the practice of polygamy in their faith since 1890. For these people to claim any connection with the Mormon faith is quite ridiculus.

As a man who has been happily married to one woman for over 20 yrs. I would think it is hard enough to keep one woman happy so why on earth would anyone try to do this for four women. Obviously, he was raised in this screwed up lifestyle and quite unfortunately he will pass this onto his children.
