Shane sits amongst YouTube royalty with the likes of Jenna Marbles and Jake Paul, as he boasted over 21 million subscribers by the summer of 2019! Shane rose to fame with sketchy comedy videos after creating a YouTube account in 2008. He rebranded and segued into conspiracy theories in 2015, and eventually launched his 2019 web series ‘Conspiracy Series with Shane Dawson.’ In between that time Shane also focused on filming YouTube documentaries, which have covered the likes of Logan Paul, Jeffree Star, Tana Mongeau’s TanaCon and Eugenia Cooney.

Off screen, Shane has authored the ‘New York Times’ best-selling books ‘I Hate Myselfie’ and ‘It Gets Worse.

In July of 2015, Shane revealed that he is bisexual and became engaged to the former on-air host of Clevver and fellow YouTuber, Ryland Adams, in March 2019.
