The Feb. 7 episode was all about enemies becoming friends… and friends becoming enemies!
Everyone on Pretty Little Liars is forced to keep up a charade at one point or another, but one of our girls couldn’t maintain hers any longer: Hanna (Ashley Benson) finally came clean to Aria (Lucy Hale) about giving her mom (Holly Marie Combs) the museum ticket, nearly exposing her and Mr. Fitz‘s (Ian Harding) relationship! And as you might expect, it ended in a fiery argument, complete with death-glares and hair-flips But the question is: Whose side are YOU on?
It also appears that Aria isn’t the only Montgomery hiding a secret relationship. During a late-night stakeout at school, Aria and Hanna caught her mom and dad (Chad Lowe) making out… in the library! But that’s not the only discovery the girls made at school that night; they also learned that Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) has been sleeping there!
Speaking of Caleb, Hanna is now pretending to be his BFF to help him earn a little hall cred at Rosewood High. And just when you thought she was getting sick of him, she invited him to secretly live in her basement! Do I smell a budding romance?
And speaking of budding romances (these segues, I can’t even…) it looks like sparks might be flying between surprise pair Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen!) She pretended to be his French tutor so she could talk to him about the person trying to frame them — and something tells me the blackmailer might be closer then we think. Like, she’s living with Toby. And she’s his sister. The blind one. (Hello?!)
But this week’s weirdest tide-turner definitely came from Emily (Shay Mitchell) and her psycho swimming nemesis Paige (Lindsey Shaw.) As you’ll remember, last week was the homophobic “incident” between them — and this week Paige showed up on Emily’s doorstep during a thunderstorm to apologize. She took off into the night, ultimately injuring herself and having to sit out of the big swim meat. Fortunately it wasn’t anything a friendly swim, set to a Selena Gomez song, couldn’t fix!
Final question: Is it just me, or do the alumni of Rosewood High visit their alma mater WAY more than most grads? Not that I don’t love seeing her, but Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) is ALWAYS there.
‘Pretty’ great lines:
- “Don’t look a gift card in the mouth” — Hanna
- “People lie, Aria. I mean… hello?!” — Hanna
- “Oh my God, my parents are having an affair… with each other!” — Aria
