President Barack Obama Visits Newtown, Connecticut — Pics

Before President Barack Obama gave his moving speech in Newtown, Connecticut on Dec. 16, he privately visited each family who lost a loved one in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting on Dec. 14. See the pics.

President Obama travelled to Newtown, Connecticut on Sunday Dec. 16, where he attended the vigil and offered his love, support and provided as much comfort as he could to the families who lost their children to the hands of Adam Lanza at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14.

THE PRESIDENT’S SPEECH:

President Obama noted that our nation needs a change.

He said, “We can’t tolerate this anymore.  These tragedies must end.  And to end them, we must change.  We will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and that is true.  No single law — no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world, or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society.”

The President then went on to name each and every child who was killed in the school shooting.

“Charlotte.  Daniel.  Olivia.  Josephine.  Ana.  Dylan.  Madeleine.  Catherine.  Chase.  Jesse.  James.  Grace.  Emilie.  Jack.  Noah.  Caroline.  Jessica.  Benjamin.  Avielle.  Allison. God has called them all home.  For those of us who remain, let us find the strength to carry on, and make our country worthy of their memory,” Obama said.

Lets hope those families found some sort of comfort through President Obama’s speech.
