Try The Pajama Trend Like Jessica Alba & Rihanna — SHOP

If you want to try one of the hottest trends taking over Hollywood, read our tips & SHOP our picks right here.

Whether they’re working a red carpet or showing off personal street style, lately so many of our favorite stars have been stepping out in what appears to be sleepwear — but that isn’t the case! Rather than walk out in their pajamas, they are really just showing off a new trend. While Rihanna totally committed to the look from head-to-toe by Acne, Jessica Alba wore a much more wearable version on a recent outing.

Jessica took the opportunity to show off a pair of Narciso Rodriguez for DesigNation pants, which will be available Nov. 7 at Kohl’s. I really like the way Jessica paired them with basic separates. Since committing to the pajama pant is such a look, you don’t want to take away from the trend or wear something too busy.

Sure, loose printed pants aren’t going to look great on everyone — but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a pair that works for you! A loose pant is a nice alternative to the super sheer styles, slits and cutouts that we’ve been seeing on the red carpet. While nothing steals the show quite like a sexy dress, it isn’t the most practical outfit choice all the time!

While the pant should appear loose, if it’s too big it will wind up looking too much like actual pajamas, so be weary of fit — even if you have to go more snug to make the trend work on you! Darker colors and smaller patterns are definitely most flattering. I also think a cropped style looks best on most body types — and dress them up with a killer pair of pumps! If you’re petite or curvy it’s going to be more difficult to rock a full-length, loose pant like Rihanna’s, but a cropped pair can work in your favor. Look for a pair that has a defined waistline and tuck in a shirt to draw attention to your figure.
