Kirstin Says: Hailee Steinfeld Should Win The Oscar For 'Best Supporting Actress!'

Even though she’s only 14 years old, there’s no doubt in my mind Hailee should be the one with that golden statue Feb. 25! Who do YOU want to win?

When I think of Hailee Steinfeld, I think of the little girl who carried the Coen brothers’ 2010 adaptation of True Grit. To me, the 14-year-old actress had far more of a leading role than a supporting role in the hit film, which is why she should take the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress Feb. 25.

That said, it’s definitely not a wash…Hailee is up against some power houses in her category. The other nominees are Amy Adams (The Fighter), Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech), Melissa Leo (The Fighter) and Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) — all of whom are more than twice Hailee’s age!

Luckily for Hailee, Jacki and Helena’s roles were quieter than hers and less impactful, plus I expect Amy and Melissa will cancel each other’s votes…giving Hailee to squeak by with just enough votes for the win. Who do YOU think will win the Oscar this year?
