I think Michelle looks absolutely beautiful in that dress. She is always well dressed. Jason Wu did a great job.

I agree that she looked beautiful. I would say that she is always thoughtfully dressed and quite often a knock-out like she was last night.

Too much bare arms….. red chiffon material appears beautiful,…..the white chiffon gown in 2009 looked beautiful on her….the style she used this time is tawdry.

I have enjoyed watching her fashion sense these past four years plus. I am terribly envious of her fabulously toned arms. To my mind I find this red dress was quite beautiful and much more flattering to her fine figure than the white one. But that is just my personal opinion.

I have much hope that your generation will be much more gracious to people holding different views than some in my generation.

Miloh,
We just get upset over the “player haters” posting dumb stuff, so we have to stand strong together and defend.
I pray for the President and his family everyday, but I do hate player haters. We all can get along, but some people just don’t want peace, unity and different colors of love, and we are trying to play nice until somebody says something stupid and ignorant. You know how it is!

I felt inspired by the President’s speech, hoping that his supporters would be above the fray and respond to unpleasant words and comments with positive statements. Stopping the name calling has to somewhere. Why not with those who support President Obama.

She did not look like she was dressed for an innaufural ball. She looked nice, but that is all. Also, I do not believe red was a good choice for elegance. She appeared to be a suburban housewife at a formal affair. Her hair looked good for day time but not fit for the elegance of the affair. She never will be a Jackie Kennedy!!

Diva b,
If Joni did have a pair of red bottoms she probably couldn’t walk in them. Joni is old, lonely and bored and probably if you seen her in person, she can’t dress worth a damn. We know Mrs. Michelle had it going on, Joni is still back in the 60’s, boy fashion sure has changed, but Joni don’t know that.

I imagine that I too am quite old by your standards and haven’t a clue as to what red bottoms are, but I think Michelle is the bee’s knees. (As I thought Jackie was in my youth.)

So your comment inspired me to look Jackie up. I remember Mamie and how young and up-to-date Jackie seemed. However, looking at her dress today, while beautiful and on a lovely woman, definitely looks outdated for today’s formal attire. But again, just my opinion. I support your right to your opinion.

First Lady Michelle Obama looks stunning as always, she is a woman of grace and beauty that compliments all women, not just women of color. For someone to make a comment as “Heidi W.” did shows that they are stuck in ignorance and progress has no future for them. This nation is changing for the better, what was tolerated in the past is no longer accepted now, ignorance is not bliss. First Lady has empowered women by her works and strengthened families by her example of being a strong, educated and eloquent woman. The Obama’s “real” relationship has been a blessing to our nation and the world, their influence is global. I stand today as a proud America, Black Woman, Mother, Minister and Business owner of 23 years thankful for this Inaugural 2013. This is the year for blessings and increase……go forth positively…..

Our nation is changing for the better – and the rest of the hateful individuals need to catch up or will be left behind. Embrace change as so many good things usually come from it.

JScal5,
You have to understand some people, they don’t want change. We are suppose to be still be living back in the 1950’s-60’s. Some people just don’t like people of color and we can’t change that. And we can’t be real concerned with those people (wasted energy), we just have to keep moving forward and pray to God for the best for our nation.
