The two designers went long and loose with their collections while Jill Stuart went perfectly girly and Zac Posen got loud and bold with his ZSpoke collection!
Day 3 of Mercedes Benz Spring / Summer 2011 Fashion Week in New York City on Sept. 11 brought one of those few fashion shows everyone is dying to get into — Alexander Wang!
The 26-year-old enfant terrible of the fashion industry shocked the audience by removing the one thing he has become famous for — black! Instead it was neutrals with some sharp pastels mixed in, a huge departure from his previously revealing and form fitting clothes. The end result was unbelieveable and ill surely be winding up on most NYC women next spring!
Charlotte Ronson meanwhile presented not only a pretty and wearable collection, but also what appeared to be a comfortable one! Loose dresses and skirts, slouchy sweatshirts. its seems that Charlotte is actually telling her audience they don’t have to actually look like on of the runway models to wear her threads!
Jill Stuart presented a very clean and very feminine collection, perfectly put together skirts and tops but also expertly cut pants and jackets.
Never one to shy away from color, Zac Posen showed his new lower priced line ZSpoke with a collection of loud colors and designs that seemed to mock the endless slew of nudes we are seeing at every show. For anyone else these colors and patterns would be too much, but with Zac it works perfectly!
