Monica Spears & her ex husband as she promoted her latest soap opera 'Forbidden Love' at an event in Miami in January of 2013. The 29-year-old, who was crowned Miss Venezuela in 2004, was traveling with her ex-husband Henry Berry, 39, and their 5-year-old daughter Maya in the notoriously-dangerous south american nation when their car broke down. According to reports, after they pulled over to deal with the problem around 10pm on Monday, a gang of youths appeared from the road side and shot the family after they resisted a robbery. Both Monica and Berry died, while their daugther survived with a gunshot wound to the leg. Co-star Jencarlos Canela can be seen on some of the pictures. (SplashNews)

I still have the soap on my dvr….I can’t watch it anymore. It’s just too weird. Rip monica y henry…poor jencarlos he is suffering for the loss of his friend, his interview says it all.

I am deeply sadden by this tragic of a beautiful woman and actress death. If only life was treasured more and not valued by greed. My deepest love and prayers to her daughter and family.
