Bonnie Says: Miley Cyrus’ New Video, ‘Who Owns My Heart’, Makes Her Officially Every Parent’s Worst Nightmare!

Seventeen-year-old Miley’s new video — in which she crawls around on a bed — and is groped by a guy as she dances in itsy-bitsy hot pants and a plunging, backless camisole, has FINALLY provoked official parental condemnations.

The Parents Television Council — a group familiar with her still-on-TV-Hannah-Montana persona — issued a strong Miley condemnation to TMZ today.

“It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one,” Tim Winter, the president of the PTC, told TMZ. “It sends messages to her fan base that are dramatically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly,” Winter concluded.

Well Miley — we hate to say “I told you so,” but we here at have been disappointed for months that you’ve chosen the route of sexualizing yourself to “sell” the new, non-teen image you’re after.

From walking around on the street with your bra showing multiple times, to hanging out in 21-plus bars and clubs, to simulating makeout sessions in your “Can’t Be Tamed” video, to giving lap dances to older men — Miley, you’ve been setting yourself up to be seen as a modern day Lolita, i.e. a sexual object for older men.

Why this helps your career is a true headscratcher. Your Hannah Montana fans don’t get it, their parents don’t like it, and, frankly, are women in their 20s and 30s really flocking to be your fans? That’s a big question mark.

But selling teen girl sexuality didn’t work out so well in retrospect for BritneyHit Me baby One More TimeSpears. You may not like it Miley, but over-sexualizing yourself was bound to finally inspire some serious parental backlash.
