J. Lo gave birth to twins back in 2008, and now Mariah is expecting two babies in the spring. We noticed some big pregnancy similarities between them.
Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey are both divas and when Mariah gives birth next spring they’ll both be mothers of twins. As Mariah’s bump gets bigger, we couldn’t help but notice that her pregnancy reminds us a lot of J.Lo’s, who gave birth to twins — Max and Emme — in February 2008. From strutting around in sky-high stilettos and continuing to perform while preggers to their struggles to conceive, these 41-year-old ladies have a lot in common.
“When you’re over 35 the chance of twins increases,” says J. Lo. And neither she, nor Mariah could actually believe they were going to have a baby. “I didn’t believe I was pregnant even though I had taken a pregnancy test,” says Jennifer. Mariah took four before she was convinced. “I took a test by myself, and then another one and another one and when Nick got home we did another one together,” she admits.
Both women give their men a lot of credit for being the perfect partners during their pregnancies. “It’s such a hard job to raise a child without a partner,” says Jennifer, who married Marc Anthony, 42, in 2004. “I don’t think I could do it on my own.”
“I want my child to experience having a mother and a father who live together and love each other, to feel secure in that,” Mariah says since marrying Nick Cannon, 30. “I would have never done this if I wasn’t in a strong, grounded relationship.”
Check out all the other ways these ladies are alike!
