Marc Jacobs Takes A Trip To Studio 54 For His Disco Inspired Spring 2011 Collection!

Marc’s ladies channeled Donna Summers and Bianca Jagger with their seventies inspired looks!

Continuing the seventies inspired look that has been seen all week on the New York runways, Marc Jacobs’ collection on Sept. 13 was a mix of multicolored knits, halter dresses, and jumpsuits straight from the discotheque. Models rocked gorgeous flowers both in their hair and out of the fabric on their dresses and belts. Even more impressive were the vibrant colors Marc used, a huge shift from last season’s largely neutral collection.

Drawing heavily from Missoni and vintage Yves St. Laurent, the collection still felt like it was entirely Marc’s with its strong feminine nature and amazing prints. Slits and shorts showed off the models sexy legs while sheer tops very much evoked the sensuality of the disco era.

The accessories also played a large role, as is often the case with Marc’s collections, and ranged from wide brimmed hats and gold platforms to handheld clutches and shoulder purses.

What do you think about Marc’s latest collection HollywoodLifers?
