Madonna put on an amazing show at the 2012 Superbowl last night — and her custom-made Givenchy couture outfits went perfectly with her performance! Check out sketches and pics of Madonna’s looks from last night!
Madonna managed to put on one of the best halftime shows we’ve seen in a while last night during the 2012 Superbowl. The 53-year-old performer proved that she can captivate and wow an audience better than those half her age! The star opened the show, carried out by gladiators, before breaking into a rendition of ‘Vogue’ and showing off Cleopatra-like moves — and her custom-made couture costumes, courtesy of Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, went perfectly with the performance! "People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna,” Riccardo told WWD regarding her looks last night.
These are the sketches for the custom-made creations. Bulgari jewels completed the look.
The Superbowl half time show marks the second time Riccardo worked with the iconic performer, with the first being her tour three years ago. It is a great honor for me to be part of yet another historical and iconic moment," the designer told WWD.
Madonna donned three costumes during the 12-minute performance, which were complimented by a gold Philip Tracey headpiece. The costumes included a hand-embroidered gold cape, a black minidress with a hand-studded belt and an embellished black coat, all by Givenchy.
