Everyday we’re hounded by photos and videos of gorgeous celebs with perfect bodies, which can make us feel horribly about ourselves. But it turns out many starlets feel the same pressure we do!
Whenever I hear an actress or model credit her perfect figure on “genetics,” I want to scream. Seriously, there’s no way these gorgeous and seemingly flawless women are all handed perfectly svelte bodies — it just doesn’t happen! Being thin and in shape takes diet and exercise…don’t let them fool you! That’s why I live to hear about celebs’ struggles with weight. I’m not mean spirited, it just makes me feel more human knowing girls who I think look fabulous, like Khloe Kardashian and Kendra, go through the same insecurities as me.
“I think my weight is my biggest lifetime struggle,” Khloe, 26, recently said in a video on her blog. “It’s not the biggest thing in life, but it does get you down sometimes.”
Boy, can I relate to that! Pressures to stay thin are non-stop. Plus, every time I flip on the TV or read a magazine, I can’t help but feel inadequate compared to the 6 feet tall, size two models I see.
Khloe admitted she goes through the same thing, saying, “I feel like no matter what I do, I never look good enough to everybody else.”
The youngest Kardashian sister isn’t the only celeb who struggles with her body type. Dancing with the Stars hottie, Cheryl Burke, opened up to People last week about how some very public, unflattering photos led her to starvation and diet pills.
“One night I was supposed to go out with my friends, but I couldn’t do it,” Cheryl, 26, said. “Every time someone looked at me I was like, ‘That person thinks I’m fat.’”
Katy Perry and Kendra are other celebs who’ve been outspoken about their battles of the bulge and I’m so appreciative of their plights. It’s not that I get off on sob stories, but hearing how Katy and Kendra also have to work EVERY SINGLE DAY to maintain their healthy physiques, reassures me. It’s tough work feeling confident with your body — and I love knowing I’m not alone!
How do YOU stay healthy, mentally and physically? Do you like hearing stories like those of Kendra, Katy, Khloe and Cheryl?
