With his new band and new album, Nick Jonas is poised to become the next big thing!

Nick Jonas was always known as the brains behind the Jonas brothers…is it finally time for the inevitable breakout stardom? With his new band Nick and the Administration, and upcoming album Who I Am due in stores Feb. 2, Nick is looking like he’s the Jonas Most Likely to Succeed. If he keeps his grown-up rock star look from the cover of the spring issue of VMAN magazine, 17-year-old Nick should have no trouble saying bye-bye to Disney! Check out the gorgeous shots of Nick wearing Dolce & Gabbana, taken by celeb photographer Mario Testino. With his Justin Timberlake-esque transformation, let’s see if his chastity ring stays on…

Here are some of our favorite quotes from the interview — you can read the whole story on the fashion mag’s web site.

  • On his musical roots: “My real musical discovery started when I was 10 with Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5, and acts that I connected with because they were young when they were doing it, like me.”
  • On his heroes, the Kings of Leon: “I admire Kings of Leon. I think their records are amazing,” said Jonas. “It’s cool to see that they get to do what they love. But I think they clearly have an appreciation for where they came from, and it has shaped who they are.”
  • On the HOT photos, and breaking free from his brothers: “With the record, with the art, I do want to express myself fully; express the thoughts and stories and ideas that I have,” said Jonas, “And I think on this record I did the best job I could with that.”
