Bonnie Says: Shut Up George Lopez — Stop Comparing Kirstie Alley to a Pig!

Posted Wed, March 23, 2011 1:49pm EDT

Usually I’m a HUGE fan of yours, George Lopez but you were cruel to Kirstie Alley, when you referred to her on your show last night, March 22, as this “little piggy who goes to market!”

Listen George – since when has it been okay to make fun of a woman – or anyone for that matter – because of their weight?

Just because Kirstie has been open about her weight issues and has publicly shared her dieting and weight loss frustrations MANY times, doesn’t mean it’s ok for you to describe her as a “little piggy.”

You did it in context of supposedly complimenting her, on her impressive Cha Cha on DWTS. But I couldn’t believe the next words that came out of your mouth – “she did a nice job – her little hooves tapping away. Before the show, she went to the market,” you continued. “And then she had roast beef on the way home.”

As a final insult, you showed a pig singing, “wee, wee, wee!”

So George, what are you trying to say? That a woman shouldn’t dance publicly if she needs to lose a few pounds. That Kirstie or any overweight woman deserves to be compared to a pig?

Would you say this about a man?

And by the way George, you’re not looking so trim yourself. Would you have the courage to go on DWTS and strut your stuff?

So you know what George? Lay off Kirstie and keep your little piggy jokes to yourself?

– Bonnie Fuller

George,

I think I liked you from the time I saw you on an HBO special where, at the end, you shafted your aunt for telling you you’d never be anything. I felt your pain and was proud of you. I am no longer a fan of yours, though, since you made reference to Kirstie Alley being a pig on DWTS. I don’t know who you think you are, but I thought you had more class and compassion that that. It sounded to me like you knew what it was like to be put down and ridiculed, but I see I was wrong. I guess it’s very true what they say: Hurt people hurt people.

Sorry, George. I was very much a fan of yours, but I am no longer.

With the risk of sounding like Dr. Phil, there is something to be said about a middle-aged man who profits from making cruel, unfunny, 6th grade level jokes. I understand we need comedy. I understand we need humor. Mr. Lopez offers neither. Remember, most comedians were themselves teased or abused as children/teenagers in some way. And in looking at Mr. Lopez, it is obvious that he was teased. He did not have a mother and is a failure at marriage; hence, this probably explains the latent hostility he has for women. But, how can you know what it is to be a real man when you never had one to show you? What is even sadder is that Mr. Lopez has a daughter. What a pitiful role model.

I was surprised by how well she did and I’m sure he was too.. which accounts for his so-called “humor”…
It’s still perfectly acceptable to make fun of overweight people, especially women. Somehow I guess people think if you have the NERVE to go out in public while fat, (IPWF)you deserve whatever you get.
Interesting too since it’s coming from one of the ugliest men in show business.

I personally think that pigs are the best animals and they are the smartest. Calling George names like Bonnie and rowdygirl did isn’t the smartest way to protest his joke about Kirstie. Kirstie Alley made racist comments about Hispanics but I guess that’s ok to all those who think they’re better than others. He made a bad joke, get over it. Kirstie did. She pretty much left it open when she did her Fat Actress series and constantly talking about her weight as she did on Jay Leno. I hated what George said but Conan and Letterman didn’t hold back. Look up what they said about her. They’re all comedians and think it’s ok to make fun of people just like Don Rickles used to do.

Since he got his new kidney and dumped his wife who, by the way, was the one who donated it he’s been a real ahole. Boffing everything that will let him, making stupid jokes… about people.

I think Kirstie Alley had a lot of guts to go on that show and she did better than most dancers I’ve seen. She gave it 125%. Lopez is taking cheap shots. I thought he was better than that.

I bet if your Grandma was still here, she’d slap you in the face. Is that why your parents dumped you and your wife left you. How you going to talk to your daughter when she gains weight. Remember, it’s all a big joke.

George Lopez: token hispanic in the celebrity world who should shut his greasy mouth. Try doing something positive in this society and tell your people to get jobs and stop commiting the majority of crimes.

Crossing the border without proper papers is a crime. So what are you saying that they don’t contribute to crime? They’re criminals!

Kirstie looked great in that S & M outfit in Rodney Dangerfield’s last movie, “Back by Midnight.” Bristol Palin looked great too. Some guys like women with a little meat on their bones, and people in glass houses should not throw stones. Up until a few years ago George Lopez looked like Fernando Valenzula’s uglier brother who made way too many trips to Taco Bell. Besides, Lopez wouldn’t even have a career if Sandra Bullock didn’t have such a soft spot for Beaners. Is he even legal? Wait until your show’s cancelled, George. Within a year I guarantee you’ll be back looking like a stuffed burrito.
