She may have been nervous to start 7th grade, but between her acting resume and her penchant for designer dresses the 12-year-old starlet definitely isn’t your average pre-teen! Elle opens up about her onscreen dads, science homework, and sharing a bathroom with her big sis Dakota!
While most pre-teens are still in their awkward phase, at just 12-years-old, Dakota Fanning‘s little sister, Elle, sounds like the coolest girl around. Sure, she may still be missing teeth and has to do her homework, but how many stars can say they’ve worked with Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, and Jeff Bridges? (All three have played paternal roles in movies with the young star).
“I see them sometimes. Whenever we see each other, they’re like, “You’ve gotten so tall! The last time I saw you, you were tiny.” That’s always the first thing most of my [movie] dads say,” Elle told Interview Magazine.
While most people are impressed with her acting, I know I can’t stop gushing about how age appropriate and chic she looks on the red carpet — it’s obvious the pre-teen has a penchant for high fashion frocks. “I love fashion! I love clothes! I really like vintage clothes, so in my closet there’s a lot of ’50s stuff. I go to the stores and shop around,” she told Interview Magazine.
Anyone with an older sister knows one of the perks of living with your big sis is having the opportunity to raid her closet — and like most little sisters, Elle definitely gets on Dakota’s nerves! So, do the two share clothes? “Yes. We’re sort of the same size. I’m taller than her, though . . . She does not like that at all. She probably doesn’t like me wearing her clothes either, but we do still share. I sneak into her closet and grab things out and put them on. She’s a senior, so she’s going to college soon. But we share a bathroom,” she said.
While most pre-teens don’t get to walk the red carpet in Rodarte and Marc Jacobs, Elle is still totally down-to-earth. “I just started seventh grade, so, I’m like, “Oh, my god!” I was really nervous at first about the whole thing with getting to your class on time, because now we have so many different classes-that freaked me out. But I’m doing good,” she said.
So, what’s her favorite subject? “Science. But I love artsy stuff, too. We take art, and I love all that. But I also like science for some reason. I just like finding out why things happen.”
I don’t know about you, but after seeing Elle’s latest spread and reading her interview, she’s definitely one of my favorite stars!
