Even celebrity moms know that when they’re busy taking care of kids, short hair is easier to style than long locks. Whose makeover do you like the best? Vote!
Having children is a completely life-altering experience for a woman. It comes with a lot of changes — especially when it comes to the amount of time you have to focus on yourself and your looks, which is why so many mothers opt to chop off their hair, and go for more wash-and-wear styles. And celebrity moms like Michelle Williams, Nicole Richie and Cate Blanchett are no exception!
Supermodel turned super mom of four, Heidi Klum, 37, is the queen of hair reinvention. “I got bored as we all do every once in a while as girls,” she says. “Whenever I get bored I change it. I grow it, I cut it. I grow it, I cut it.”
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, 26, also went for a dramatic change when she chopped off her lengthy reddish-brown locks. Her husband, Pete Wentz, is a fan of her new ‘do. “New blonde pixie haircut is cute,” he tweeted. Meanwhile 30-year-old Michelle Williams (aka mother of Matilda Ledger, 5) can go incognito since getting her platinum pixie cut. “I’m lucky because I’m not recognized,” she admits. “I disappear. I’m just a face in the crowd.”
And Cate Blanchett, 41, needed to make the cut so that she can be with her three sons more. “Like most working mothers, time is sacred,” she says about her pared-down beauty regimen. “All I can manage is five minutes in the morning and evening.”
Jessica Alba tweeted the praises of stylist to the stars Renato Campora after he turned the 29-year-old’s hair into a sleek, shiny shoulder-skimming bob. And 38-year-old Katherine Heigl has bounced back and forth between being a blond and brunette for her movie roles, so she’s considering covering up her real strands with a fake hair. “I thought from now on I should just wear wigs. It takes half the time,” she says.
And we love 29-year-old Nicole Richie‘s new lighter look but she called it “makeover madness.”
