Don’t you love it when you get together with old friends? So do A Listers!
Everyone was one big happy family last night on the red carpet at the premiere of Clint Eastwood’s new film, Invictus in Beverly Hills, Dec. 3. So many friends of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were involved in this movie, it was like a mini reunion for everyone—including their families! Invictus is a Nelson Mandela bio pic, about the post-apartheid 1995 rugby World Cup championship in South Africa. Morgan Freeman plays Mandela, and Matt Damon is rubgy team captain Franois Pienaar.
Brad and Angie showed up beaming on the red carpet with son Maddox, 8, in tow. It was date night number two for the couple this week—Monday, they were spotted at the Dolce Vita restaurant in Beverly Hills with George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis. All this despite reports of a pre-Thanksgiving brawl at the Jolie-Pitt household—Star magazine reported that the police showed up at their Los Angeles home after an afternoon of yelling and chair-throwing.
Director Clint Eastwood was there, of course, with both his current wife, Dina Eastwood, and his FIRST wife, Maggie Johnson, along with his two sons Kyle and Scott, and daughter Alison. Clint and Angie must have had some catching up to do—the two are still friendly after he directed her for an Oscar-nominated performance in the Changeling last year.
Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso are old pals with Brad from the Oceans 11, 12, and 13 . Too bad daughters Gia, 1, Isabella, 3, and Alexia, 11, were too young to come along!
In another blast from Jolie’s acting past, Morgan Freeman was there. Freeman, who plays Nelson Mandela in the movie, filmed Wanted with Angeie in 2008.
The surprise guest was Kenny Chesney, who showed up looking cool and casual in khakis and a sweater.
A big night for friends and family on the red carpet!
