Blake and Ryan have been happily married since September, but fans have been patiently waiting months for a first glimpse at the big day! The wait is finally over!
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds shocked Hollywood and their fans with their super-secret wedding at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Sept. 9. With their intention of keeping their big day intimate and private, no photos of the ceremony had been made available for months, but that’s all changed! A new spread in Martha Stewart Weddings finally gives fans the details they’ve been waiting for!
With an invite list of just 35, the magazine’s website says that Blake and Ryan’s “sole wish was to have an intimate affair.
“They wanted to celebrate in private — and in style,” the story continues. “And while they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together.”
The couple did allow the magazine to include a single shot of themselves, focusing on their clasped hands. In the image, fans can see their first glimpse of Blake’s couture Marchesa gown.
“When Ryan and Blake secretly got engaged last June, they knew it would take careful planning, confidentiality, and a select crew to pull off their nuptials before word got out. Enter Martha Stewart,” the article continues. “We quickly discovered that Ryan and Blake are not like the many altar-bound celebrities who sell their big-day photos to the highest bidder.”
Details Of Blake & Ryan’s Big Day
Blake’s bouquet was created by the magazine’s style director Kate Berry. It was made up of pink jasmine, andromeda, dusty miller, and blushing bride hydrangea. Certain petals were dipped in an understated rose-gold glitter to highlight the similarly-colored embroidery on the Gossip Girl actress’ gown.
An extravagant dessert table was a key feature of the event, with a focal point being their vanilla-and-sour-cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves and Earl Grey-milk chocolate buttercream made by Maggie Austin Cake in Alexandria, VA.
Martha herself said Blake was a “very gorgeous” bride and that Ryan was “a very gorgeous groom,” adding that they are “the nicest couple. And very, very modest and nice, contrary to the parts they play.”
