Phillip won because he was awesome! Just wait and see how well he does! Not only is he a fabulous artist but he went through the entire competition in horrific pain with Kidney Stones! My husband suffers with that and it can be agony! America made the right choice for a perfect win! YES!!!!

Man, unbelievable. I was very upset because Jessica did not win. She is 1000 X’s better than Phillip Phillip,! I do not want to slam Philip because I did enjoy his music, but he was the same and had no variations in his music, Jessica and Joshua were clearly the best, but it’s up to the vote’s which shows America does not always vote based on the best talent.

Phillip is a hero to be able to withstand the pain and suffering and continue throughout the American Idol show. I enjoy his song preparations and how he brings to the table. Phillips songs are not copy catted as other singers tried to put together. Different and I really liked the arrangements.
Phillip keep up the strive on making songs original and good luck with getting well.

The deciding factor was probably not based totally on the voice. In time, Jessica just might be a mega star. But, she can’t get by on the music of other artist no matter how well she does it. She can sing anything, and she’ll find it if she has the right people. I don’t want pressure and expectation to eat her alive before she publishes her first album.
It is like trying to compare James Taylor and Dion Celine. Not that I think they are like the finalists on Idol….but the difference in their styles is much the same as Phillip and Jessica. Now I’ve got to say. Phillips music is not the songs of young teen age girls. It is too alternative, too original, different….For example, I love Bob Dylan. I would not have loved Bob Dylan at age 13. I loved George Harrison forever…and Michael Jackson for a time.
We older folks are probably the most consistent when it comes to watching and thinking about every show. My music preference might be Jessica when she molds into her zone and has experience…and I don’t worry about her well being. Now I’ve been totally impressed by Phillip. And, well … I’m old.

AI is a Business. Think about this way: both Jessica and Phillip have millions of supporters. From their supporters AI generates serious amount of money. They made to the finals because Phillip is the boy next door whom all the girls will definitely do everything to push him to the top. On the other hand, Jessica showed how powerful her voice is which made her to be the Real Deal and only those who are serious talking what singing is all about lifted her up to the competition. Both are talented. Jessica’s path is to perform hardcore while Phillip is to write songs and to sing what he writes.

why did philip phillips join the american idol if he is very ill?
why not join after all operations!.and when he reach the top 2
his parents and philip ,start thier drama for being sick,,unfair for the other contestant,we need a healthy performer, judges
went to pitty him,he doesnt have the extra ordinary talent!
jessica was really agifted child of GOD! its america racism!!!!
its always there now and then.philip looks handicapped when
he sings, allhis friends says he looks weird, cant you see there
aint no dancing or performance just playing his guitar.

Jessica is a wonderful singer however, she is no different from other great singers. Phil Philips is totally different and its about the music with him. That is why he won. It wasn’t the same old great voice hearing the same old great songs. That was what made PP win. He was a different performer from what we have seen before on AI and he delivered the goods. He was sick from the beginning of the competition but dealing with it. I don’t think it was a pity call at all. Its just that PP is the real deal period!

I guess the results of this year’s American Idol shows that it is not how good a singer or performer one is, but rather who looks good on TV even though he really can’t sing. There’s so many guitar playing singers all over the world, but they don’t command large audiences when it really counts in major performances.. I thought Jessica would be Las Vegas material who will draw thousands and thousands of people. Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, name it, her style will be a crowd getter anywhere. I think this was a huge mistake.

AMERICA DEFINITELY MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE! MY HUSBAND AND I PICKED PHILLIP FROM THE VERY FIRST PERFORMANCE, HIS AUDITION PERFORMANCE! ALTHOUGH WE ARE MISSISSIPPIAN’S AND LOVE SKYLAR WITH ALL OUR HEARTS…WE BOTH JUST FELT THAT THIS YOUNG MAN WAS GOING TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP!! WE CANNOT WAIT FOR HIS FIRST RECORD TO COME OUT. WE WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND PRAY THAT HIS HEALTH ISSUE IMPROVES GREATLY AFTER HIS SURGERY. HE IS IN OUR PRAYERS AND GOD IS SMILING DOWN ON HIM AT THIS VERY MOMENT. CONGRATULATIONS TO PHILLIP FOR A JOB WELL DONE..
