EXCLUSIVE: Get The Scoop On The Alice + Olivia Summer Tour From Designer Stacey Bendet!

With surprise celeb guests, makeovers, and amazing clothes, you won’t want to miss the alice + olivia summer tour when it comes to your city!

Fresh from Bonnaroo, the first stop on the first ever alice + olivia summer tour, we got to catch up with designer Stacey Bendet who filled us in on what you can expect from the 70’s style airstream motor home that doubles as a party bus and pop-up shop. “Inside, it’s really fun and girly, we wanted to emulate the [alice + olivia] website and keep the cartoon-ish feel,” Stacey said. “There’s a popcorn machine, gumballs, stickers, and celebrities have been coming in and signing the walls.” The designer said the tour is visiting boutiques that have been selling alice + olivia for years, while also giving out makeovers. “It’s about getting an inside view of each city and spreading the alice + olivia love,” she said. “I have an amazing team of cool girls and stylists helping the customer get dressed, pick things out, and put a look together. It’s great seeing everyone get so excited, there were people literally follow the bus down the street!”

While in Bonnaroo, the trendy team of fashionistas styled performers like Diane Birch, Alyssa Bonagura, Ingrid Michaelson, and Regina Spektor, and even picked out cool concert go-ers for impromptu photo shoots! Luckily, if you’re in Miami, on Jun. 19 the tour will invade the area with 90210 chick and alice + olivia lover AnnaLynne McCord!

While the tour is full of fun, it’s also for a good cause — the brand has partnered with a charity in each area it visits. Stacey said getting involved, giving back to the community, and getting in touch with the people in each town is a huge part of the tour. For example, while in Nashville, two girls who were flood victims were given a $10,000 makeover. “These women lost everything,” she said, as she opened up about the two women they made over. “One woman has a baby the same age as mine who’s really sick and she said the only thing she grabbed when she left her house was his medication.” The designer said helping these women feel a little bit better and treating them to something special was an amazing experience. “It was so nice to be able to help them.” And, while in Alabama, the alice + olivia team is working with people affected by the oil spill.

Stacey said she loves exploring each area they stop in and is learning more and more along the tour. “It’s really cool,” she said. “We’re going to all these vintage stores and I’m really learning about alice + olivia customers, if we’re somewhere and it’s like 200 degrees out I get why some things sell and why others don’t.” Needless to say, the whole experience is seriously inspirational for the super talented designer! “I definitely get ideas when I’m traveling,” she said, saying sometimes you look at people and get ideas you normally would’ve never tried! “It changes your eye.” Considering how edgy and stylish alice + olivia already is, I can’t wait to see what turns up the upcoming collections!

After Florida, the tour is set to stop in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C., New Jersey and New York. Check out the tour blog if you want to join in the fun in your area!

Stacey Bendet is a genius. The road trip to me signifies what A + O is in fashion – on the go, always moving and evolving. Later is Now! With this road tour, the country can see how A + O rolls!
